Some thoughts about Delpo
I haveta say, that ever since Delpo won the USOPEN09:
I am so thirsty for Delpo news, want to read anything about him, about what an awesome guy he is, about how great he played in that final against Roger, whom I admire greatly, about his self belief, confidence, his relation with Davin, his growing process and handling of the pressures, his low profile, his admirable capacity to learn new things and to show a game that is constantly growing, that's getting more technical, more tactical, and that is becoming more and more pleasuring for my eyes. Because I have to admit, I grew as a Nalbandian fan, he possess some of the most beautiful shots in the game. When I began to follow Delpo, his game wasn't as breath taking. But as I see him grow, his game is becoming more and more stellar, more amazing, and that USOPEN09 final was the culmination of it... so far. He is taking a lot of excellent decisions. Davin has a lot to do in it, and when Delpo speaks about his coach you can note how much he trusts Franco. In Davin we trust. His calm yet precise demeanor is to me a very strong coach attribute. Ah.. I'm ranting, but wanted to share this. If you want to share thoughts about Delpo and what surrounds him, post here. |

I wanted to "like" this... but then I realized this isn't facebook
I like when Juan Martin says "lovely" :p It's just not one of those words I would think you hear from a manly man like Juan  |
Re: Some thoughts about Delpo
the quote in your siggy is so awesome, haha.
ALL I WANTED WAS CHEESECAKE also, on a more argentine-political note: Delpo said NO to the president. She wanted to take a picture with him, but he said no with a very breif explanation: "My family lives from the farmers". For those who don't know, the government had a political war against the farmers last year which lead to about 120 days of strike from the farmers. The crux of the problem was that the government wanted to impose a tax (although they used another word) that was inconstitutional. Personally I think what the government did was very wrong, and the president's popularity right now is very low, around 30%. There might be some that disagree with me, but I think Delpo's solid and coherent answer to the president is to be bowed to. He had the balls to say NO to the president, and to stay firm to his belief. |

Re: Some thoughts about Delpo
it hasn't been a piece of news found in all newspapers. I fact I only found it in that link. I guess this is because of not wanting to mix sport with politics. But the comments in that link, 95% applaud JMDP's action.
