Pierre-Hugues Herbert
 

A bit premature to create a thread at this point and I've just heard about him today but there are two reasons why I created it :

1) he just reached the QF at the USO junior and is ranked 17 in juniors
2) there's this incredibly precise site already about him www.p2h.fr/index.php

@Truc : Coming from Schiltigheim you may have heard about him ?

Shit, I misprinted his last name. this is Herbert and not Hubert. Does anybody know how to correct it ?

He also has the stylish nicknames already, "p2h", "Ügi" - although we might rather call him "Hubert" here. :p

(If you really insist on editing the thread title, just edit your post, "Go Advanced" and you can change the title too. I had never heard of Schiltigheim nor of p2h before, no, nice find with the website!)

Actually there's some chance he'll never break through so he deserves at least a correct thread title :o

yeah the volley stats made me laugh too, quite as much as "le bilan initial" in which only lacks the color of his racket grip and if he wears boxer shorts or underpants !

Some words of his father about a training session with Nadal in the USO :

"Le rêve américain continue pour Pierre-Hugues ... Il vient d'échauffer pendant 45mn sur le "Arthur Ashe Stadium" le petit Rafa avant son match de demi-finale prévu à midi contre Juan Martin Del Potro.C'est clair. Tout le monde aura compris. Ce ne pouvait être que ce colosse d'Ügi. Le prodige espagnol avait en effet besoin d'un "grand qui envoie des missiles" (lol) pour bien se préparer avant d'en découdre avec l'argentin.
On rigole, on rigole, mais trêve de plaisanteries ! BTW P2H had a WC in the Mulhouse future but lost today to Baptiste Dupuy 7-5 6-3, it was his first appearance in a main draw. The weirdest stuff about it is that there's no mention about it on his site but I hope we'll have the number of BH volleys he made in this match and the degree of indoor humidity of the backstage tomorrow

Oh, PHH has his own thread! :dance:
I like it how he shows solid results on all surfaces, even thoughs he plays much more on clay. Hope to hear more from him in the years coming.

PHH has reached career high No.547 place in the rankings this week after having played in his first Futures final in the Dominican Republic (lost to homeboy Victor Estrella 1-6 3-6), where he also won the doubles title with Krawietz.

I think he's gonna get the points for his final next week. He went up because he won two matches the week before in another Future in DOminican Republic. He's playing a third one this week and has won his first match. Hope for him he'll do well at Challengers level next year.

He beat Sandro Ehrat (N.774) in straight sets 7/5 7/5. His next opponent is Rudy Coco (N.429) whom he already defeated last week in his last Future.

He won against Coco again to lose to Victor Estrella (#1) in semis. He's now #508 in the rankings and will probably enter top 500 next week. I guess spending Xmas in the Dominican Republic is a nice idea!
