Murray will face Alamgro in R2 - Sela retired while trailing 46 01

He's on his way to Cincy now - for some reason he elected to be driven from Montreal to Cincy, which is a good 10-11 hour road trip.

Back to the happy hunting ground :) Hope he has enough in reserves this week to have a decent run. As for that scenic route to Cincinnati  (stiff joints?), I suppose we can allow him some self-indulgence, he's earned it.

If he wins most of his matches in straights, then he has a week of, I think he'll be fine. I'm more afraid for Roddick. 3 weeks in a row now and then US Open :o

I'm sure he'll be fine - he can manage 2 weeks back to back without killing himself, especially with a week off before New York begins.

Can he drive in the USA yet?? If so, maybe he's practising his driving!!:)

Well he has a UK license so he could drive but I gather he was driven - he was sprawling out with a row of seats to himself and another for Jez Green

Re: Andy tries to double down in Cincy!

A pretty good start for Andy, beating Almagro 76 62 - Mucho played a pretty solid first set but then offered up a few freebies in the tiebreak, which Andy lapped up, and Andy attacked the serve more in the second set and helped Almagro into many more errors.

He plays Stepanek next, second on Centre Court today

He surely can't have any problem against Benneteau tomorrow?

Re: Andy tries to double down in Cincy!

Pretty good from Andy I thought

The second set was more of a struggle than the scoreline suggests but he still played pretty well all match.

A few odd patches of poor serving though he'll want to attend to.

Benneteau had a 3 hour match today. Andy was already strong favourite anyway but that fact counts even more in his favour.
