I remember hearing about twitter 3 years ago and thinking "That's cool, but who wants to use it".

Shows how much I know.

Jon Wertheim just started one, he's not a pro but http://twitter.com/jonstennistweet

also, you can verify celeb pages http://valebrity.com/

Roddick's site has one, but it's not actually him posting

Okay, maybe I'm totally out of the loop, but what's the point of Twitter?

Deboogle!. 03-17-2009 09:41 PM

Re: Tennis pros on twitter

it's basically like mini-blogging, just short little updates about what's up, what's on your mind. a lot of celebrities/musicians/athletes are using it to keep in touch with fans in a more relaxed and hands-on kind of way, which is really cool

I think even through those few short posts, you can see Jamie is much more of a people person than Andy. The posts just seem warmer. I'm not bashing Andy as I like him but I always think Jamie comes across as more likeable.

Andy must be back from his honeymoon because he's spamming Twitter and calling in to Bobby Bones show:

The Bryans tweet often:

Wow, Andy actually updated his twitter like... like I don't know. I wonder if he'll keep it up (just got around to reading his latest blog, so maybe). I'd love to see some banter between him and Bob or something. But if he doesn't, yay for Bob at least! I love reading his tweets.

I disagree, to be honest. I think Jamie is simply more of an extrovert. He's certainly not more likable, based on what I know. He's slagged off Andy quite a few times and dumped Eric Butorac just as he thought his career was about to take off. Andy is a much nicer bloke. He just isn't all smiles on court. Then again, how many players are?

Oh Clydey I do like Andy, I think with him what you see is what you get, he's not one of these people who is completely different when the cameras are on to when the cameras are off. Personally, I like that. There is nothing fake or sugary about him.
Maybe Jamie is just is a bit more savvy when it comes to playing the media and public persona game as I think lots of people think he is the "nice" one. He just comes across as more personable in interviews imho.
