Kiwi Down Under

First round Kiefer-Ferrero not scheduled for Monday so Kiwi will get another day's "rest" for his ankle

Kiwi can do what Kohli can, don't you think? And Kohli beat Ferrero in Auckland's final today!!!

btw Ferrero will be drunk all week

One more day of rest sounds good, since I've gotten pessimistic due to all those Haas and Kiefer pullouts.

Ferrero played pretty well, apart from a few mishits at crucial times, and lost against a very inform Kohlschreiber.

is court 6 a showcourt?

Re: Kiwi Down Under

No, it's not, but it does have cameras on it. Seems that not all courts with cameras are called showcourts. At least according to the commentators. But I don't expect to see anything of his match on Eurosport, since, unlike the US Open coverage, there's no focus on german matches. Your best bet is the Eurosport Pay Stream.

They said on eurosport that he has a light shoulderinjury ("Schulterverspannung") and got treatment before the match. I know that he wasn't practicing yesterday... maybe because of that... But if he started this match the injury wasn't serious. He is very careful with such things lately. More concerned I am about his quote about the Davis Cup "I don't think I will be a big help"... how demoralized is he that he thinks he is not good enough to beat a Korean player who knows clay only from Future tournaments??? Maybe this quote was only from the first disappointment.... he will talk to Patrik Kühnen about it tomorrow... let's hope for the best:confused:

I saw this match yesterday, so didn't understand why they didn't put this in the show court, both are well-known players. Without doubt, this court was full yesterday.

This was probably the worst I've seen Kiefer plays, of course, full credit to Ferrero who played and served extremely well. Kiwi had some chances to break in early third set, but Ferrero came with good serves most of the time to save the BPs. After got broken once, Kiwi totally gave up and lost easily.

I am disappointed he didn't even fight to stay in the match. Although he was pretty calm during the match, but it's not the Kiwi we all likes. He plays better when he gets upset or argues in the court  Also, too many unforced errors from Kiwi, and his net play was terrible as well.

Oh well, maybe he was injured, who knows, it wasn't clearly showing in the match, I can only see he had no motivation at all in the match.

Again, full credit to Ferrero who plays extremely well :yeah:
