I can't say I'm a huge fan now, but I used to be. I have seen only one of her shows. I have a lot of respect for her, her career is inspiring and she is truly a global pop icon.

So now, after her Superbowl HT show, I'm again full of admiration for her.

There is also the matter of that new song. How many great songs does she have? I know she usually has a knack for getting hooked with the right people at the right time, but still, she keeps on releasing great tracks on a regular basis.

Proof: two of her latest singles:

What do you think about her?

Her arms give me the creeps.

This is just shocking. A Madonna appreciation thread. No offense but the woman is so overrated it is not even funny. No wonder I listen to the likes of the Who, U2, Queen, Def leppard, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin. Madonna has led the fight against good music over the years. She is responsible for the emergence of the likes of Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.

Used to be a a fan but she's not a cougar anymore, like in the 00s. Now she's a granny, trying hard to being a teenager .. singing a Demi Lovato/Selena Gomez-like tune is

Never the best singer, but really a hard worker. And yes, some of her videos are just soft porn, but there are plenty of them that are pure art. And The music, c'mon. She has great songs. I particularly enjoy her ballads/slow tempo songs: Frozen, i'll remember, this used to be my playground, live to tell.

Those two videos are  There are way better videos of M out there. I mean, Bedtime Stories was exposed on NYC MoMA

I did not mention the quality of the videos but the songs are good pop songs.

My favorite tracks

More famous, one would have to say they are about equal.

More successful? Surely no one could debate that since she has been going on for decades, while your "man" was relevant for a generous 5 years as a solo artist.

Her songs are being played in clubs, a lot more than MJ's that is for sure.

That is no secret for anyone...

Anyways, be on topic or butt out! :)

Got so wrapped up in those clips i forgot my top 2 favorites:
 -

Love the song and the message is true & helpful to remember sometimes.
The auto-tune makes sense here a decade before everybody over used it.
 -

Ok John really, MJ is not the greatest Pop icon in the world????????? This man was the reason so many people believed in who they are and what they can accomplished. What Michael did was just amazing absolutely inspiring i dont think any other pop singer would've never done what he did. This man was a beast in the past, his songs were amazing hits, and whats so crazy is as much as i love love LOVE madonna, madonna cant never and no one can ever top and break records like Michael did, NO ONE!

I do disagree wholeheartedly with pretty much everything you said in that post, you sound like Bilbo Jr...

Please, let's not make this a MJ vs Madonna thread please. No need to bring it into this thread. Start another thread with Bimbo if you must feed your need to worship MJ.

According to Wikipedia, the freak had 12 number one US singles. Elvis had 18. You are probably limited by being convinced the Big Bang happened the day Thriller was released.

BTW: ROLLING STONE mag puts him at #35.

Pretty high for a child molesting junky, but that is not what this thread is about.

It's about her

I find Madonna creepy and not attractive in the slightest. Don't care much about her music either.

#39 ·
Definitely not a legend. Pretty crap music overall. The sooner forgotten the better.

I was merely debunking your not a legend claim...

What is good music to you, if I may ask?

Madonna! :yeah:
Amazing artist, damn hard worker, great performer, and ... not a bad songwriter either. Didn't she write "Live To Tell" at least partly by herself?

One of my Guilty Pleasures of the past few decades.

And... how can any liberal, feminist person ever resist THIS:

"Poor is the man whose pleasures depend on the permission of another"

Just brilliant. :worship:

This coming from MTF's #1 progrock fan. :p
