Poor match overall for Feli. Never really got into a rhythm in any department. Feli served well to dig himself out of holes in several service games, but overall he didn't volley great, didn't return very well, made tons of errors from the back of the court, and struggled off the backhand and off his second serve. The 2 all game to lose serve in the second set was especially ugly from him with three dreadful errors. The final game when Marcos was serving for the match Feli played one of his best games, with more focus and composure, but it was too late at that point, as Baghdatis hit two winning serves to take the match.

Baghdatis took a *3-1 lead in the first set, which he proceeded to lose on a double fault. But he re-broke immediately hitting some good returns. Marcos served great for his standards, hit some great passing shots, returned decently, hit the BH well, and played decently overall. Not an amazing performance, had some loose errors, but he did what was required to get a relatively comfortable victory.

That's probably where Rafa learned his handshakes with Nole :haha:

didn't return well and made errors from the back of the court OK, but I think he volleyed well, just that on these slow courts against an in-form Baghdatis it doesn't make the job unless if his serve had been great.

He was outplayed then I like the way he relaxed and went for his shots in the second set.

Entertaining match :yeah:

Baghdatis may give a little bit of competition to Nadal, if he's in a good day. Today he was in a good serving day.

He didn't volley that sharp. Made some poor volley errors to get broken in both sets. And his movement to the net was lazy several times, resulting in he not finishing off the point at the net and giving Baghdatis a clearer opening to pass him. He hit some good volleys but it definitely wasn't his best performance at the net.
