What Tsonga had too say about his lost too Murray

Tsonga in l'Equipe post Murray: It isn't easy. This might be one of the first times I've felt impotent against him. I work work work ... there are moments that are more difficult than others. This was one of them.

(About the heat) You feel like stopping. But, OK, you have to get a hold of yourself and get back into the fight. It's hard to find any positives at moments like these. You have to try and find some to hold on to.

I think of the future and and about older players who are still playing well. It can come back at any time if you're serious about it.

I have no explanation. I just have to keep working. Maybe there's a reason, but I don't know it. I have to keep looking.

He should vulture a 250, unless he gets to the final of MC. Getting that 8th seed for RG is very possible.

I'm not confident at all regarding Jo on clay. On the positive side, he seems fine physically but his game and confidence are in the gutter right now. He's probably the worst returner at ATP level right now and even his FH is leaking errors, on clay the lack of confidence and therefore consistency in his game could be even further exposed.

As I said though, his 'crisis' doesn't seem to be physical so I wouldn't totally write him off yet, I don't expect much from the clay season but I believe in a grass season ressurgence ala 2011 :yeah:

Did you see his DC match on Friday? It was the best I've seen him play in a good while. He served great... +30 aces, and even saved 2 match points with aces. The big forehand was firing again, and his return game was miles better... even hitting backhand return winners. His confidence seemed much better than recently, so I think going back to his old racquet might have helped him. Gojowczyk played an unbelievable match, hitting forehands like Soderling. Jo was very unlucky to lose.

He's definitely not the worst returner in ATP right now. He's not even the worst returner in the top 12. If he can win today against Kamke, it could be a real turning point for him.

Pretty sure Lenders hasn't seen the first 2 sets of Friday's match. It was really high quality from both players.

Tough lost for him against Roger might should won that match, but still an decent week for Jo. I hoping he ask for an WC at somewhere like
Barcelona Open, Portugal Open or BMW Open could use more matches under his belt

#19 ·
Yup, if he vultures a 250 or even Barcelona, he could still get the 8th seed for RG.
Too late too Vulture Barcelona the draw already out, I think he might still can get an top 10 seed if he plays some good tennis, he only like 100 points away from getting back into the top 10 plus Juan Martín del Potro won't be playing RG this yr sadly & Richard Gasquet is questionable atm, but I still think he need too grab an WC at some event before RG

didn't see the match so can't tell how bad Jo Played or how good Giraldo played but these the type of match Jo should be winning. Tsonga form is so bad atm I think he really need too consider looking for an new coach

#23 ·
Haven't seen it either, but according to comments, Giraldo played very good and Jo was poor at important moments. It's the confidence vicious circle more than anything IMO, until he gets a good run with some good wins, it's low, and while confidence is low, he's poor at crucial moments and ends up losing the matches. Hopefully in Rome ...
