Andy Murray on clay. Will he ever win a clay title?
With all his moon balling and great tactician tennis, wouldn't his game translate well on clay? I don't understand why his results aren't so good on clay. I know he was injuried last year and didn't have a chance to play during the clay court season, but still...
Re: Lendl:"Murray can play better on clay than he believes"
If Murray is 100% fit and maybe can find a good form in Madrid or Rome then i am sure he can win RG.
He has the game to be successful on clay. Everyone who knows 1% about tennis is seeing this.

You can't counterpunch on clay AS SIMPLE AS THAT !!
For instance: Murray , Simon.
/Thread.
everyone who has played tennis himself knows this ... it's simply thrice as hard and twice as ineffective to counter-punch on clay

Very low, but people saying he will never win a clay title are pretty ridiculous, and probably hating rather than using logic. What Andy needs is a good draw for and confidence in himself on the surface for him to win a title, and that's not impossible. Lendl should help but I'm not sure.

With a kind draw he could make another SF at Roland Garros - that'd be the best I'd expect from him on clay. I don't see him ever winning a best of 3 sets clay tournament to be honest .
Will Andy "Clayray" Murray ever reach a clay final?
Everybody knows Murray v2.0 OBE has tanked in Monte Carlo to lull every player into false sense of security. Question is, when will the Great Scot choose to reveal his new found clay prowess? I say he will announce himself as THE new clay superpower by winning Madrid and Roland Garros this year. Only Del Goatro with synthetic wrists can hope to stop him
Re: Will Andy "Clayray" Murray ever reach a clay final?
Dull will be pissing his pants if he ends up in Clayray's quarter. Slamray is no Mugro, where a subpar Dull only needs to get the ball back in play and wait for Mugro to self-destruct. Clayray will be blasting winners past Dull like he usually does on clay. No more RG for you Dull
Re: Will Andy "Clayray" Murray ever reach a clay final?
I think he will reach a final, but not this year.
It's not a good sign that the best clay court match Murray ever played (Rome SF 2011) he still lost...
