Maybe it is just me, but i feel like Nadal is going to have a MONSTER come-back. Back to back wins at slams imo (rg/wimbledon). Murray does not have the gonads to stop nadal... only djokovic stands in Nadal's way. Nadal has had SO much rest, it almost seems inevitable that nadal will make a monstrous comeback.

Nadal to win RG/WIMBY. BOOK IT

If you think Federer does not have a pain somewhere in his body It is just an illusion,It does not matter his style but he is a very smart never push his body to the limit , How many 5 hours matches has he played in his career? I think the only one with Nadal on clay Rome 2006 ,
This AO 13 it was for first time in his long career Federer played 5 sets matches back to back,
Fed hates those long 5 sets matches If you can do your job for two or three hours why you need to waste your time and tire your body, No one pay him per hour.

that was good Pepi, can't stop laughing :lol::lol:

I just think that Nadal and is team traditionally have been doing a horrible job when it comes to scheduling. It looks like he's learned his lesson, and we'll see how this little South American experiment will turn out.

As for Nole. He is so lanky, a natural athlete. super elastic, probably has almost zero body fat. I don't think he'll ever have problems with his legs, but I'm worried about his shoulders, hips and his back. He played only 18 tournaments last year, so he is obviously trying not to overplay.

Fed was always super smart when it comes to his scheduling.

I have had my lesson in my life never say never, Obviously Alex you maybe nas not such one like me, You can not say Novak will have or not have problems with his legs, They say if play with fire you will get burnt, If you ask Monfils is much more natural athlete than Novak is and he got his problems, Novak will turn 26 in May and has around 600 matches Here problems start. I do not wish anyone injury but it just happens,

I never though about it, he look endless but 26 years of age and 600 matches will effect Anyone, I was so focus on rafa that I didn't thought about nole and his legs.

Lets hope he will stay healthy and keep givin us games like we saw v tsonga in RG and AO v Stan

nole eats donkey cheese which stimulates production of titanium in joints, cartilage and bones. read all post carefully, it has been explained.

Problem for Rafa is he won't be one of the top 4 seeds at RG, so he will have a much tougher draw.

The problem with Rafa is that his team pales in comparison to Nole's, and so does his scheduling. Nole will never let his knees deteriorate like Rafa has for so many years. Sure, Nole might not have as long of a career as Federer, but he will age better than Rafa.

The secret to being number one is firing Todd Martin. Unfortunately, a player must hire Todd Martin before he can be fired. Before a player can do the opposite of everything TM advises he needs to learn what TM's advice is. A small step backwards followed by a giant leap forward. Djokovic still claims that TM helped him but the episode was definitely weird.

The mental aspect will be tough, like when he returned in 2009 after missing Wimby. Do you go 110% every match, or risk re-injuring yourself?

And what's the deal with Nole's "injuries"? Sounds like people just hoping he gets injured with the way he plays (a la Nadal ~2005/6).

If ANYONE could win RG after a long layoff it would be Nadal butI actually think his best shot might be Wimbledon. He's a great grass court player and I see him making a deep run there. Winning the first GS after injury would be hugely impressive; I just think his odds are best at wimbledon this year.

As good as Nadal is on grass, there is no way that his odds are better at Wimbledon than RG. No way. His best shot is RG, followed by Wimbledon. Unlike grass and hard courts, clay is very forgiving on the knees, so he shouldn't have trouble with clay under his feet. Now, he may end up losing RG and winning Wimbledon, but the odds are always in Rafa's favor on clay.

All this basically. Everything that has happened for Nadal at the moment, is expected and all going according to plan. There was never really any doubt.

Kudos to the IP who had the guts to come to a forum and post his belief in Jan 2013. It was gutsy because there are so many haters in these forums.

I think lot of them ignored this thread like it was a joke. NOt any more !!

I believed that Rafa will make a determined and a decent come back . I hoped that he will play into form and have a decent showing at Euro caly and then at RG.

I saw his first match (on a stream of very poor clarity). I was happy but little apprehensive since Rafa was very self conscious about his knees. He was hesitant to move . But later on he played well. His defeat in the finals did not bother me much . Wehn he defeated Nalbandian and then Alamgro and Ferrer , I was convinced that his come back was well timed and the decision to play the South American clay swing was very smart.

When Rafa won IW and then skipped MIami, I knew that the Team has learnt their lessons.

MC final loss to Novak was the first real shock for Rafa and I think it was good because it gave him more impetus to work on his game.

He swept the rest of the clay season . NOW he has RG too . He is a joint favorite for Wimbledon with Murray .

Congrats to true Rafa fans for believing in him and thanks Rafa for this .

If some body wrote a script like this for a come back , they would have been called delusional. But Rafa did it.

HATS OFF Rafa !

Nadal's comeback was very bleak for hatas. 9 finals. 7 titles. A grand slam. 3 masters 1000. Record breaking 8th RG title. Loved watching fat basement virgins like Sheeplebuster and Orka_N cry and rage uncontrollably every time Nadal won. Today was the sweetest moment of all.

ONLY 9 finals out of 9 ? ONLY 7 titles out of 9 ? Only 3 M1000 and 1 GS within 4 months ? ONLY LOSING 2 MATCHES ?
GTFO Rafa.

Very interesting to hear what he said to Mcenroe today, that he only practiced for a few weeks before Vina del Mar and otherwise couldn't play much tennis over the whole period. I had assumed that he had probably spent 2-3 months trying to get back into match shape after the injury.
