So, today Alejandro is 22 y.o. :aparty:
My congratulations :wavey:

I think he is able to become top100 player as he is rather good not only on clay.

Last 2 seasons he had such good victories as Gilles Muller, Jiri Novak, Luis Horna, Wesley Moodie, Andreas Seppi, Bjorn Phau e.t.c.
In March 2004 he won 2 challengers in Bogota (clay) and Salinas (hard).
This year Alejandro was in finals in Cordoba (hard) and Binghampton (hard).

Alejandro lost his singles rubber to Bellucci 6-2 6-3 1-6 4-6 3-6. He had a two sets lead and had chances at the start of the third set, but wasn't able to take advantage and the match got away from him. It's a disappointing result for him and Colombia, as the team lost 4-1 and did not advance to the World Group playoffs.

Alejandro did receive a WC into Pereira and won his R1 match over Rivera-Aranguiz 6-3 6-4, but was forced to withdraw with a left knee problem before his R2 match. Disappointing, but his withdrawal was more for precaution and not too serious. His next tournament will be Barcelona the week after next, hopefully he starts his European clay season with a good result!
