Re: Andy's 2011 Live Score Discussion Thread (Brisbane)
It was EXACTLY like you expected. Andy's play sounds just awful (have to follow message boards). If he's going to play like that, just don't even show up in Melbourne.
Re: Andy's 2011 Live Score Discussion Thread (Brisbane)
I realize Soderling is hard to play, but Andy was taking no initiative  To not even get a BP on his serve on a medium-paced surface is not a good sign. Ah well. Glad I didn't end up watching it  except the stream was in Italian and I could've practiced
Re: Andy's 2011 Live Score Discussion Thread (Brisbane)
I'm seriously thinking about taking a break from tennis. Andy is sucking hardcore and there isn't anyone that I like enough to root for. And I'm tired of feeling defensive about liking Andy, especially when he goes on such awesome rants like the one today. A hobby shouldn't feel like work and that's what it feels like. I dunno.
I'm going to be watching but I'm not super pumped for this tournament. Just a sense of malaise.
Andy needs to use this match to get more comfortable on his fh and to move up more on the baseline. Hajek has no weapons Andy so just fucking swing at him.
Andy won in straights and only lost five games but not exactly inspiring play. He's still super passive so the first decent and consistent player he meets, he's toast. The whole commentary team was talking about since he was up so big he needed to practice going for more to help him in the later matches...which he did not do. Aarrgh, so frustrating.
That first set was way harder than it needed to be.
