Re: David in Carmen Electras hometown Cincinnati....ehhh win this thing!

The nice guys at Sky showed this match on the highlights show this afternoon - and because Jim ran out of work and sent me home early, I got to watch it :) Looking at things from a slightly different viewpoint - I was extremely impressed with David :) I know Moya wasn't playing at his best -but David stayed focussed and calm - and his ground strokes were excellent. Also his serve was better than it can be sometimes  I don't agree that Moya wasn't bothered either - obviously I wasn't there live, but he often questioned calls and he was shouting out and talking to himself, which led me to believe that he WAS trying his best. Our commentators were saying he was just having "one of those days", and when things weren't going his way he became frustrated with himself. I noticed the stands were very empty - they often seem to be when non-Americans are playng in the States - it makes me

Anyway - well done David - you did what you had to do and did it well :) Good Luck for the rest of the tournament.

Re: David in Carmen Electras hometown Cincinnati....ehhh win this thing!

Hi guys, thanks for both of your reports. I haven't seen anything of the match, only the scoreline. This sad girl was following the live-scoreboard. The truth to the match probably lies somewhere in the middle, but looking at the stats I was surprised by Davids first serve % which if I remember correctly was at a stunning 79%. Something that's quite rare for David.

Next up little boy Almagro, who's attitude I hate so you better put him back in place David.

VAMOS!!!!

Oh and hope you'll have a nice day at the tournament today Isa, with a little less rain than yesterday.

Re: David in Carmen Electras hometown Cincinnati....ehhh win this thing!

The rain delay hit at just after 9 pm - so it was after 10 when play resumed - most people in the US have to be at work at 8 am in the morning and unless they are diehard fans (which is usually not the case) most people went home when it became apparent that the delay was not going to be a short one.

No rain delays today :) In fact the weather was absolutely perfect - 80s, sunny, and cool breeze.

Arthurs/Hanley def. Ferrer/Robredo 6-1, 6-2 (Ferrer held serve once all match, in the 2nd set).

David is becoming the master of those :worship:

Have to admit I was very worried for him.

Warning: People with bad heart problems should not be
David Ferrer fans. ;)

You're right......we could have told you that a while back though and saved you some frayed nerves! ;-)

But we enjoy putting ourselves through it! Welcome anyway Brego - you should have joined us in the Chat thread, and we could all have suffered together! Anyway - I'm off to bed - will never get uo for work in the morning! David - well done - you're a star

Baggie hasn't had a night match yet, that's why he's playing at 7.

I posted my match reports for the doubles and 2nd round match over on Ferrer's forum.

Vamos, David! Beat Baggy and push him down the ranking... ;)

Re: David in Carmen Electras hometown Cincinnati....ehhh win this thing!

I am now utterly convinced cheering for his opponents is the only thing that's making David win matches. :tape: So I'll continue to do it, right on into the final if need be since I like you chicas that much.

Re: David in Carmen Electras hometown Cincinnati....ehhh win this thing!

8 pm is so late to start the night session :( I will probably just go to Rafa's match during the day, then leave and come back in time for the Andys.

Re: David in Carmen Electras hometown Cincinnati....ehhh win this thing!

Sorry Rosie his next two tournaments are New Haven and the US Open (which I probably wouldn't have coverage of unless he makes the SFs and QFs respectively), then it's off to Asia to play Beijing.

Re: David in Carmen Electras hometown Cincinnati....ehhh win this thing!

Yeah I've seen Isner play at Lexington for the past 2 years, David will have to keep his head about him and return well.

Will be going to qualies today and tomorrow - should probably see David practicing.

Re: David in Carmen Electras hometown Cincinnati....ehhh win this thing!

I plan to see the Ferrer vs Isner match. Looking forward to it :) 2 years ago was the first time Ferrer came on my radar in Montreal and Cinci. Tough fighter he is and so so nice to fans :yeah:
