Right now here in Quebec City there is a terrible snow storm, I'm blocked inside because there's way too much snow and the roads are blocked!!! I have to admitt I'm a summer guy... and you??

Re: The "Tenacious Florianopolis Surfers" Chat Thread!

I have a pretty good idea of how the match went unfortunately, I'm quite sure Guga wasn't able to touch Ivan's serves, even second serves:sad:... His hip is so unstable, I read in his Miami interview that he sometimes has to "replace" it before serving, have you ever heard abous something like that:eek:

He shouldn't play Barcelona really, but I guess for his fans in Barcelona it's very sweet of him, they'll have the chance to see him for a last time  I hope they do something special for him in RG, I'm sure there's gonna be a ceremony and a gift for him:)

Honestly, I really don't want to watch another match on clay. I think his movement is even more limited on clay than on hard court.

The match ended in less than an hour on clay so you can imagine how it went. As someone suggested in GM, Ivan really didn't go for much for the 3 service games that Guga won. The first one being at 5-0 in 1st set. :tape:

Guga plays against 19th seed Paul-Henri Mathieu at Roland Garros 2008 first round.

Vamos :rocker2:

"it'll be nice to face a French here (Paris) and also a high ranked player like him. It's hard for me, I watch at the trainings with the guys who are 80-90 in the ranking, I'm still below their level and always have to play as much I can 9in the limit), against Mathieu it will be a tough match"
"However, it will make the match more interesting(...) facing Mathieu, even being hard, will be a motivation and inspiration. And let's see how will the crowd act, if they cheer on me, then it will be a miracle"

Hello everyone:wavey:
Whoa I can't believe I haven't been here since May, so much has happened since then:eek:!!! Guga's retirement, all the summer, start of my final University year, crazy how fast time goes by sometimes doesn't it:eek:

First of all (I'm single BTW for those who are asking loll:p) I had my trip in May-June in Eastern Europe which was awesome, I just LOVEEE Russia and I wanna go back there one day, there is that mystery about Russia that attracts me so much, and since I'm learning Russian at school now I definitely have to go back:D!!

This summer I worked at Tommy H for a final time (now I got to find a job in civil engineering:D)!! The final year in University has started, I have my first exam of the semestry this afternoon, hopefully it's gonna be allright:) I'm already thinking about finding a job soon, looking for an appartment, those kinds of things:) I don't have a lot of money though, this final year is quite expensive (we have to pay for the prom, the engineer's ring and the trip to Varadero in January:D) but it's gonna be exciting for sure:)

As for tennis, I've been a bit more away than usual this year, my 2 all-time faves (Hingis and Guga) have now retired as well as Agassi, Clijsters and Myskina, so it takes some time to find new faves hehe;) Federer is still doing well except his domination is definitely over, 4 players are at the top now and I guess it's more exciting that way, I'm rooting for Federer and Djokovic all the way over Nadal and Murray loll;) In the women I especially love the Serbians, 2008 has been much better in the WTA than in the ATP for me generally;) We'll see the final tourneys of the year, I'm going to the Bell Challenge next week for the semis, can't wait:D! And we have our annual Halloween rave on October 31st (my 6th consecutive Halloween rave), I'm also looking forward to that:D!!

And you, how's it going:D?? Lee and Jiat, you still here:)?

Watching (right now) Guga inducted into Hall of Fame in Newport. Guga's mother Alice gave the introduction speech and Guga is a non-stop leaking faucet since and during his acceptance speech. Of course, this makes me a leaking faucet too. :p

He still looks the same as he won RG in 2002, not aging a single bit.
