Endless Federer-Nadal debates

Roger Federer reached all four slam finals in 2007, Nadal reached 3 finals and a quarter final.

Roger won the prestigious Tennis Masters Cup. We will have to wait to see if Nadal can win the WTF.

Federer won 8 titles in 2007, including 3 grand slams.

Nadal won 3 grand slams in 2010, including the prestigious RG Wimbledon double. He also won 3 slams in a row.

Both players had interesting slam draws. Federer had to beat world number two Rafael Nadal in Wimbledon final, and a very on fire Djokovic in the US Open. Nadal had to beat Bird Itch in Wimbledon final and a very tired Djokovitch in Us Open final.

2007 was probably Federers least impressive 3 slam season, 2010 was Nadals best season so far one would have to think.

So who had a better season?

Discuss.
The floor is yours. Have at it.

Re: Nadal leads Federer 3-1 outdoor hardcourts, while Federer leads 3-0 indoor

This is because Rafa's game is aided by the weather. The wind, Rafa is still effective, especially in comparison to 95% of players. The heat, Rafa can wear down opponents with his spin, and his balls have more juice on them. In the humidity, Rafa's balls are heavier and difficult to handle. In the cold, courts are slower, which makes it difficult to hit through Rafa.

In a controlled area without the weather conditions, and the fact most indoor courts tend to play quicker/lower bounce compared to outdoor events, Roger has the clear advantage.

Re: Nadal leads Federer 3-1 outdoor hardcourts, while Federer leads 3-0 indoor

It can be incredibly windy in both Flushing Meadows, Miami and Indian Wells; all outdoor venues, events which Federer has won over 10 times combined. His game doesn't exactly crumble in weather, either.

I agree, Federer is one of the best in windy conditions, he even beat Agassi in 5 sets at US Open and Agassi is known for great play in windy conditions. In that match the ball would bounce innocently upright and then suddenly move away from player rapidly.

Re: Nadal leads Federer 3-1 outdoor hardcourts, while Federer leads 3-0 indoor

Rafa is basically unplayable in poor conditions. His game is very much insensitive to weather, whereas everyone else's suffers.

The only time where he has a slight drop is at RG if its cold.

Re: Nadal leads Federer 3-1 outdoor hardcourts, while Federer leads 3-0 indoor

To summarize: Federer is a mug with a shitload of luck whereby he faced GOATdal only four times outdoors, otherwise the level of ownership would be even greater.
Roger, you clown, just hide in indoor venues and bank on your giant luck, which has leaded you to those fluke 16 GS slams and the GOAT title.

Amazing thread. Does the OP (and Mungo) have some kind of insecurities with Nadal so they are forced to post every achievement/stat/etc they can think of? I'm surprised they haven't gotten a warning, or maybe they already have and haven't learned yet.

Why are you picking on this stat? It's more relevant than virtually any other stat being monotonously posted on this board every other day. It's more relevant than the clay stat which Federer fans swear by. The indoor/outdoor stat is what makes their matchup, it's the difference between winning and losing, and highly relevant if the AO ends up closing the roof :yeah:

Re: Poll: Nadals 2010 season vs Federers 2007 season

3 slams on 3 major surfaces in the same calender year.......let me know when this happened the last time around........if you have an answer for it, i will consider other things for discussion........

until then the comparison doesn't even exist at all.......nadal's 2010 is greater than whatever fed ever accomplished in any of his single seasons........learn to live with that dose of harsh reality.......

nadal's 2010 >>>>>>> any single season by anybody in the sport.......3 slam victories on the 3 major surfaces.......beat it.......

Fed's season of 2007 was unquestionably better than Nadal's 2010 and that was is the topic of this thread. Case closed.

arguing otherwise would only suggest that you are a blind fedloving fantasy fool.......

Re: Nadal leads Federer 3-1 outdoor hardcourts, while Federer leads 3-0 indoor

even the indoors record would be 3-0 or 2-1 to rafa if the indoor matches happened in the first half or middle of the season.......

the only thing which saved ballerina in the recent encounter was nadal's tiredness due to the battle on the previous day.......

Re: Nadal leads Federer 3-1 outdoor hardcourts, while Federer leads 3-0 indoor

Yeah! And to give you some insight
Federer leads Nadal 6-1 in Sets (Indoor)
Federer trails Nadal 5-9 in Sets (Outdoor).

So the difference becomes more prominent to give an idea about actual winner.

Very true, staggering dominance indoor by Federer, its heaven for him  I'm proud of Rafa for getting that 2nd set this year, he fooled people into thinking he might win I think :D

Re: Nadal leads Federer 3-1 outdoor hardcourts, while Federer leads 3-0 indoor

you nadal turds are such a joke on this forum, why don't you write something that Nadal eyebrows are higher then Federer or how about his toes are hairy, or maybe his hair style looks way better.
Such losers its a laugh reading your posts, its amazing how delusional ppl come up with these faults.
The best player in the world to adapt to windy condition is Federer 5 Usopens say so. Eat that.
16 - 9 I know it hurts but its real stats.
The stats you guys come up with are rubbish and know one with a brain cares.

Yep I just read your post about the "turds" and the first thing I thought was "this guy doesn't care at all about the 3-1 Rafa record"

Re: Poll: Nadals 2010 season vs Federers 2007 season

I'll have to go with federer because the skill level of the moonballer is quite low, also he was threated for his kness 2 times within the same year & two weeks later was able to lift up slams thus the core of the matter easy draws n' luck. Also injuries to elite players.

 I'm so naive. But that Sophocles posts same stuff in every thread, so if that's irony it must be very deeply hidden; the irony that borders with the truth.:p

Who the hell "unredded" that miaow double account?!?!
Dear, I strongly recommend you to refrain from posting on this board during your PMS days, because I'm yet to find at least one post of yours when you're not attacking someone.:(

Re: Nadal leads Federer 3-1 outdoor hardcourts, while Federer leads 3-0 indoor

I don't care too much about the regular surface h2h.

What is more important is how these guys can do against each other on the slam h2h. Nadal has owned the clay h2h for slams.

Now we will see who will own the hard court and grass slam h2hs.

Re: Nadal leads Federer 3-1 outdoor hardcourts, while Federer leads 3-0 indoor

24 yr old apparent GOAT Nadal having 5 weeks off could not beat 29 yr old senior citizen cry baby ballerina Federer at this year's WTF. What a shame!
