Even ignoring the absence of Fed and Nole, it looks like a dull event. Too many other absences by good players, and there's nothing special in the draw. Compare this to last year where 16/16 of the Top 16 put in an appearance...
Go back and take out 20 grand slams from any masters series draw in any era. It won't look good. I don't know what people expect, when there is domination like Roger, Rafa and Novak over a period of time, if you take two of them out there are only so many more grand slam winners that can play, there are only 4 grand slams a year.
It's going to be interesting to see if Nadal can win Tokyo and Shanghai now that Nole is out... If Nadal fails to win these 2 tournaments then it's not just the Nole 2.0 factor this year for him but that he has gone almost full circle in his career and will only win titles on clay which is what he has done this year and that is if he avoids players like Nole 2.0 on clay.
Not really and I like Fish. Still too many people that can take him out before the final. Tsonga who beat him in NY and Murray the def champ here and one who beat Fish in August Ferrer and Nadal beat him over the last month also
Hopefully someone can take Murray out then it's wide open
Unfortunately for you, Murray may tire out, but not before he bagels Young again (if Wawrinka doesn't do it first)
In Berdych's current form I'm picking him for the upset over Nadal- I agree, I don't think Fish will get past Tsonga quarters, much less a Murray in the semis.
Dimitrov has a chance to reach the quarters, looking at this draw.
