They heald the tournament in December for the last time in 1983 and decided to make the tournament in february so the skipped 84 otherwise the would have a tournament twice in 75 days
He still hasn't recovered from that soul-crushing defeat at the AO to Nadal. Remember it took Murray something like 8 MONTHS to recover from his epic loss at the AO last year. Federer loss was even worse, so it is easy to see Roger going into a Murray-like slum this year until after the USO.
Also haven't people considered the fact Roger will be completely exhausted after the Davis Cup best of 5 sets? Imagine 2 -6 hour 5 set matches against Isner AND Fish and old-man Federer legs will give out.
This. Apart from him getting busy with what seems to be some kind of a 'farewell tour' this year, appearing at tournaments where he didn't bother to show up for quite a couple of years.
His commitment to play the South American tour in the late fall/winter this year also points in that direction.
I like the winner of the Pony/Berdych semifinal to take the whole thing. Not impressed with Federror in DC this weekend. He might not even show up if the tie goes to 5 full rubbers.
Why is Federer playing 500 event at this time? Is he going also play Dubai? if so than really weird from him , is he so desperate to get points or what.. but if Rotterdam is still fast like last year than Berdych is going to win this.
