I kinda like this list :) So good to see Lukas Lacko on here too! Surely I will go some days! :D

Re: Rotterdam Entry List (updated January 2, 2012)

Hopefully Haase will get in without using a WC. I'm excited to see youngsters Janowicz, Tomic and Dimitrov in my home town!
Dimitrov probably felt compelled to play here because he was given a WC when he was even younger. It's a smart strategy that the tournament practiced before with Federer: establish a connection with a highly promising junior, so that he is bound to come back when he's at the point at which he will draw huge crowds.

In that regard a WC might almost be better spent on someone like Coppejans or Dzumhur than on De Bakker. (But with 4 WCs De Bakker and Sijsling should be sure locks for a WC). I do expect some young non-Dutchman to get a WC this year. And some charismatic player who slid down the rankings, like Monfils.

Coppejans why not, but I don't think it would be good for Dzumhur to get a WC in a such strong ATP field. He would just be destroyed, I don't think it could help him to improve. He has not yet the level. Coppejans neither, but they aren't at the same stage of their career.

Uhm, Dzumhur's credentials are stronger than Coppejans in ITF events. And he had a fair showing in Melbourne, beating Van Der Merwe and taking Chiudinelli to a deciding set. They stand about equal chances of being demolished IMO.

Nooo, I wanted to see Stepanek sex around on court.

WC for Monfils :)
And Haase doesn't need his WC anymore. I wonder where the remaining two WCs go.

I just hope Bernie doesnt get Fed in his half. Otherwise, he can definetly reach the final, here.

Re: Rotterdam Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated February 6, 2012)

I have a feeling Lukas Rosol will get a wild card.
That would be awesome:) He deserves one for the upset of the year last year at Wimby, not to mention he is pretty good on indoor hard courts...Very close to the main draw, anyways:wavey:

Re: Rotterdam Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated February 6, 2012)

My hunch is purely based on whether Rosol makes it into the Zagreb semi finals. Without any special exempt spots, it's a semi-decent wild card spot.

I agree that De Bakker is a more logical decission, as might be Huta Galung, because he has ATP points (and about 90 ranking spots) to defend in Rotterdam.

Re: Rotterdam Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated February 7, 2012)

You don't deserve a wildcard because of one match. Rosol has only beaten one player in the top 40 since then and it was Troicki.
And local players deserve WC just because they are local? Rosol's win wasn't just "a match"...It was part of tennis history and there is a huge difference between the two...He is a pretty good indoor HC player, as well...Which Top 40 players did Huta Galung, Schoorel, Middlekoop or de Bakker beat in the last year? even Top 100 players? 0, zilch...So what's your point? Rosol is like a Top 50-60 player and those local guys are clearly not, so your rationale doesn't make any sense...It's fair to give a couple local WC's but it's also fair to give a Top 50-60 player a WC too...There are 4 WC's after all

Re: Rotterdam Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated February 8, 2012)

Rosol is a fluke, they guy belongs in challengers honestly, much less wild cards outside of eastern european events..

Re: Rotterdam Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated February 8, 2012)

Lacko is out, Mathieu is in.

I think Hanescu is in too, I wonder why they did not have Zemlja on the 1st list, cause it came out to 31 players instead of 32, unless there was a SE.
