In honour of Marat's setting sail for horizons new, I hereby launch this thread!
11 June 2009, Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Thank you so much for the pics and the video.
I guess the woman in the video could've been more receptive to Marat if he wasn't wearing that hat... lol!
too bad, hours after this pic is taken,Joannie has lost her mom due to a heart attack at the age of 55 but Joannie reported that she will skate at the ladies competition which will start two days later.deepest condolences to dear Joannie(both Joannie and the Georgian Olympic Team deserves the Terry Fox Award imo)
^ An unimaginable tragedy. I just couldn't believe my eyes reading about it here while looking for Marat news. As I understand it, her mum died early this morning, and the pic with Marat is from last Thursday night.
That poor girl must be in complete shock. What a brave soul she is to go ahead and compete on Tuesday. Life is so fragile, so precious.
-sorry,i was supposed to write days after, not hours of course.i was kinda shocked as a devoted fan of figure skating-you are totally right, these tragedies remind me that i should be thankful for every minute spent with beloved ones.because of tragedies, scoring scandals, organization fails,i really miss torino 2006 n lookin forward to sochi 2014 which i think would be a spectacular one
