Really good tourney this year - hopefully a great final, and aggressive/varied shotmakers Melzer, Colonel, Funky Flo (and Lalo) making the quarters/semis. oh, and a local wildcard making the trademark epic run to the QF.
Tsonga needs to serve great and do great at the net. He needs to shorten points and not let Nole getting into a rhythm from the baseline. Nole's ability to turn defense into offense seamlessly is unrivaled so rallying with him won't be a good idea for Jo at all.
Of course it'd also help if he could return serve a little bit better than usual.
Tsonga's movement isn't an issue, his shit BH and ROS are. He has the best attacking game in tennis overall along with Federer imo (considering serve, fh, net play, power...), but he leaks too many ridiculous errors with his BH and tanks too many return games to be a genuine top player in this particular era and conditions.
I don't see Tsonga taking a set but I haven't watched a single minute from this tournament. I'll try to watch this on TV tomorrow if I can get up early enough.
I've seen last 2 Novak's matches. He is playing very well. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see Tsonga at all, but read here and on other tennis forums that his form is not that great atm. I think Nole will win but I never underestimate Tsonga.
Tsonga is 4-0 against Nole on indoor, has been in great form this week, won an indoor tournament 2 weeks ago and people are predicting Djoker to destroy him on that surface??
MTF at his best!!
