I'm leaving MTF

I have been thinking this for a time now and I have finally decided to leave MTF. I wanted to tell you all, specially my vfriends here and those who I have been talking to everyday for the last 5 years. I thought at least I owed it to you.
The reason i'm leaving is the ongoing negativism and contempt for the sport and the players which sadly has taken over this forum in the last months. It wears me down and kills my enjoyment of the sport. It used to be an outlet for fun and to relieve stress, but lately it just pisses me off and upsets me, and most of all it ruins my enjoyment of tennis. So I'm leaving for good. I'm sure I won't resist the urge to lurk from time to time, but I hope my resolution lasts longer than that of Johnny Groove. :cool:
I'm not leaving the tennis community though, so I guess I'll see some of you at other forums/fb. I've heard there is a new forum where some of the old posters have gone. I have had great times here and I miss a lot of the old posters and good friends like Corey Feldman, Clay Death, STG, Filo, etc. And I still have many friends here who I won't name because I'm sure I'll forget some and anyway they all know who they are. I'm sure I'll miss them.
Anyway, take care you all and ajde forever, :)

I think the fact you wouldn't create a goodbye thread yourself is reason enough to believe that the action is in poor taste.

As quite a few who posted before me in this thread have pointed out - it's essentially attention-seeking.

And she hasn't really left the forum. She posted yesterday. So make of that what you will.

I read it as a statement about the permanent bannings and how that's taken away her joy. If that's something Nina wants to speak out about, good for her.

I agree with Lee there's nothing about taste involved. Anyway, it's not as if we are at society event.

Fantards leaving are no loss. It is the mindless Djokofedalurry crap that turns away decent posters on this forum, so every time another cheerleader leaves the forum is better off.

I would like it if every user who has a player's name in their username was confined to that player's forum.

Punky, you want a male mud wrestling competition don't you? We're not pieces of meat you know.

@Caesar,
I am not a racist, I luv all of God's creatures as long as their interests don't conflict with mine. :) You know what I mean by that.

I still can't figure out why people feel the need to announce their departure from an online forum. If you're fed up, just leave. Disappear into the distance. Make yourself scarce.

I willingly admit to once falling for the temptation of making a "goodbye" post (with the emphasis on post - and submitted to an already established tournament thread), though. It was addressed to the official Roger Federer forum, back in 2007. Not as a call for attention, or because I thought anybody would miss me or inquire about reasons for my leaving, but because I was provoked by the moderators' actions and felt compelled to give them a piece of my mind. Which I did. I haven't signed in since.

Having said all this, I'm always sorry to see a regular go, regardless of what I think of him/her. I can only echo Kat_YYZ' sentiment: This place can be whatever you choose to make of it.
