Summer outdoor hardcourt season starts with Granby this week. He plays another frenchies Mathieu Rodrigues and didn't enter doubles.

It's Bennet who got the WC. Arno was not really deserving it and Arno still don't say he will quit at the end of year even it's possible

Last news http://www.facebook.com/arnaudclementofficiel/posts/223816977666336 confirm he'll play us qualies that he'll fly tomorrow to NY he says that he has no physical problems and will play doubles with Dlouhy. Well nothing special Sylvain don't report long messages

#45 ·
Allez Arnaud for qualies! :cheerleader:

I don't mind the short messages. When I had a website for a player, I also posted short messages. Sometimes there's only so much you can make from just a draw and results. Even though the player in question always promised to give me email updates, I'm still waiting for them. :p

Dancevic in the first round...The worst thing we could expect :(

#48 ·
Yeah a bad draw as usual this year...We can say Arno has a little advantage, Dancevic did not officially play since Wimbledon because of a pain back. But it's never a good thing to begin the tournament against a big server. I can't stand Dancevic, I remember his match against Arno last year in Rennes, He abused of the medical time 2 times in a row to break Arno's rythm and it worked, he's a cheater for me.

Good luck to Arno :), I don't think we'll have more than a livescore :(

#47 ·
Finally he got a seed spot to get one of the worst draw  I mean Arno needs a warm up round what isn't Dancevic  I know that Dancevic has been injured and didn't play since Wim but he doesn't need a long preparation to play on HC and Arno is struggling too much to be already OK. That's just poor and unlucky draw

Let's play the match and hope :cheerleader:

#50 · (Edited)
5.9 earthquake in the east coast with epicenter in Washington apparently but tennis seems to continue. Match of Arno is about to start even if they felt the earthquake on the tennis center

I edit as i said i would follow first set and i did it Well no surprise Arno is struggling on each serve and Dancevic is not a clay court guy it won't gift his games each time it gives 3-6. That sucks pity he didn't get this warming up round

#52 ·
He lost 6-3, 6-3.
But isn't qualifying also supposed to be best of 5?

Anyway, I feel bad for him. Let's hope he can play some challengers now, close to home to lift his mood.

Btw, the sb sucks. I had to refresh the whole time, cause it doesn't show me the game points, only the set scores. :(

#53 ·
Nope, quialifying best of 5 only in the last round of Wimbledon!

So many lost points in rankings again :( He was down 40-0 in the last game on Frank's serve, made 40-40, then saved another mp, but Dancevic was strong enough mentally...

Benneteau was so close to the main draw without WC. Slam without Arnaud, that's awful.

If he doesn't play St Remy and doesn't win points there he should be around 200# :awww:

Benneteau was so close to the main draw without WC. Slam without Arnaud, that's awful.
They could have give the WC to a young frenchies more logical. Then i hope Arno will have the WC for the french challengers during the fall like Rennes or maybe Orleans and why not Bercy qualies. With his ranking he will need them.

#54 ·
The only qualifying match in 5 sets is the last round of Wimby ;). The scoreboard is perfect for me http://www.usopen.org/en_US/liteSco...4&ref=www.usopen.org/en_US/scores/index.html#

Well he has poor stats on serve struggled on each of them and was inexistant on return that was expected but still sad  Anyway tournaments turn all the same way that's sad  but when you're on the river of no return you don't leave it easily. I wish him he will live one good week before well i don't want to write it :ignore:. For his mood i don't know but what he's expecting now ? I feel sad too toward his hopes few week ago.

He has to find something to do during all the week now and hope no more earthquake :bolt:

It really is... :awww:

And I am definitely not ready yet to also put his name in italic after this year. :tears: That's why I will be cheering for him in Mons and Bercy. :D (Already booked, so hope he's there, though I don't expect him to go somewhere else)

#63 ·

I'm sure he wanted to play some events next year before leaving but many pains and too much poor ranking the qualies of challengers that's not fun :(

For Mons he may need to play the qualies i really for you he'll make the effort to go even for qualies :).

I'm worried for what's going to happen now with his low ranking.
That's the question what he wants to do if he's 200# and his body doesn't allow him great expectations. I'm sure it's not easy for him

#62 ·
He has really improved for sure, now he is able to play with foreigners regularly :D and during his press conferences in english he knows more than 3 words and people understand him...I find him better than Richard for instance lol but Richard's accent is too cute

#64 ·
Well, in Mons they always seem happy with him, so I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a wildcard. If not too many Belgians need it.
And just in case, I could always go to Marseille for his goodbye tournament. I allowed myself to assume he plans it like that. :)

For Mons the list is not out yet so we'll wait but usually the cut is high that's why i wrote on the qualies. For Bercy he should get at least a WC for qualies if he needs. And maybe Arno will post his schedule. About this one Arno entered Istanbul challenger the week after St Remy.

Based on the reports I read, Arno played a terrible match, his attitude was poor, his game was very weak, his serve wasn't there and he got dominated.

Arno's bounced in and out of the top 100 a lot these last several years but always found a way to get back in. It's sadly looking less and less likely that will happen this time

I'm sure he'll got a lot of WC's in these French events coming up. What's most important is he's physically and mentally fresh and capable of winning. He really needs at least one good event to build some self-belief, right now he's in a cycle of losses that are devastating him. He needs to see and know there is a light at the end of the tunnel for his results to start to pick up again.

This one
Dancevic vs. Clement - The only match I watched start to finish. Frank played very well. He was on top of Clement from the start - was holding easy and had deuce on Arnaud's first three service games. Had 6 break points in those games where on the first five he missed five backhand returns in a row without putting the ball in play. Was starting to get frustrated. Then Arnaud gave him a gift, double faulting on the 6th but Frank played a loose service game to get back to 3-3. That game was the turning point of the match. Frank had already been screwed over by the umpire the game before, and it happened again at 30-15 to Clement. Clement hit a ball literally two feet out but the umpire gave the point to Arnaud. The next point, Frank ripped a frustration forehand that hit the line. After that, his level rose considerably. He broke Arnaud twice in a row to win the set 6-3, and then held very easily in the 2nd set while breaking Clement with several fantastic passing shots and forehand winners. At 5-3 serving, he went up 40-0 with some good play again, and then... well Frank historical inability to close came back almost. He double faulted twice to get back to 40-30 then missed an easy backhand for deuce. Fortunately for him, after a couple more misses Clement missed badly on a weak second serve, and then Frank closed in out with a great rally. Overall, Frank will be very happy with this performance, needs to improve the return game against Wolmarans though. Clement on the other hand should be ashamed - his first serve was non-existent, his attitude on the court was poor, and he was pushing like a Spanish clay courter.

Don't forget his age :p. I'm pretty sure is indeed tired mentally and physically ;). He was at the top in his early 20' play most of his carreer in the top 100 :worship: and has never been long time injured so for sure he's burn out mentally not by this year but by the years :tennis:. He loves tennis but competition began to be too much tough for him. Even when he played well this year vs Berrer or Baggy he lost to them because of that. Then his game is based on his fitness not a shot and his body is just painful

He really needs at least one good event to build some self-belief, right now he's in a cycle of losses that are devastating him. He needs to see and know there is a light at the end of the tunnel for his results to start to pick up again.
He needs a good week to enjoy tennis on tour and because he deserves it  That's why we will use :cheerleader: in the next tournaments despite we are :scared:

To play qualies for a challenger...ouch it's tough at 33 after his career...I hope he will get the WC for Mons. Fortunately there are a lot of French tournaments or in Europe during last part of the tennis season, it's less difficult to find motivation than playing on the other side of the world, sometimes in bad conditions.

Nothing in L'Equipe mag after his defeat  I want to know his mood but they don't write anything about him this year or just some words, a pity.

A bad round for Clement

They talk about DIP job then

"And there is Arnaud, under his accomplices eyes Arnaud Clement 33 YO 154 # a little less lively and broken down of first serve just lost the first set then the second one, two times 63 against the canadian Frank Dancevic a really bad draw for once. There is more than 500 spectators (free entrance) to see him, many french players and Nolwenn Leroy his famous fiancée. No it's not tough to see Arno in qualies answered DIP. he's here because he's crazy about sport and because he still believes. He's not far away but he lost confidence along the months.

When you read about the others frenchies some drew players who gave them the match . Definitely unlucky draw for Arno. According DIP words Arnaud still believes in better days  but he's playing totally without confidence. The journalist add that Arno is less lively and it was what i remember from his match vs Cipolla. Of course confidence is crucial but he's also less good because of that injuries . Arno still in love with tennis

another capture easier to read

Maybe he should decide to stay on tour as a doubles player? Many of them are his age or older and still successful.
I'm not sure this is what he wants in his last interview he was not even motivated by doubles in 2012 Olympics  He would need to play with a friend to be motivated by doubles all a year.

After the earthquake now Irene hurricane is coming to NY :bolt:

Thanks for the article soulagen it's interesting (not only for arnaud, but also for the other players)

I'm pretty sure arnaud said after or just before RG he was not motived to play only doubles on the tour, he still wants to focus on singles...
Well, it's his choice...

#76 ·
Really hope for Arnaud vs Mika 3rd round ;)

#77 ·
I though i could have put an eye on the livescore but they are last match on court 8 and the first match is not yet finished

In a way it could be better to go in St Remy to catch some points but on te other hand come in the US to lost so early in each field would be devastated for his mind

#78 ·
A loss 6/4 - 7/6 :( a pity, their draw was pretty good for a non seeded pair...But on the other hand it's a good thing for him to play one week in Provence nearly at home and maybe take some points.

I looked at the stats http://www.usopen.org/en_US/scores/stats/day9/3111ms.html and it seems they should have won easily the second set. The lack of competition and of confidence is a problem in close moments especially because Dlouhy has a bad year too since he split with Hanley. Poor loss actually

The interclubs it's nice but since mid july Arno won nothing on tour. Well 2 weeks in the US for two loss no doubt he's in a bad mindset :shout: Soon it will cost him more money to be on the tour than he makes  .
