Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

o, I'm just checking here to make sure I wouldn't get a LL spot and I don't think I will but am a little confused about the LL determination. does it get decided just the same as a regular match...

1.# of picks right
2.# of SR right
3.SR Shootout
4.PTS
5.CB Picks from previous round
6.CB SR from previous round
7.CB SR Shootout from previous round
8.Game difference
9.Ranking

I'm reading the first couple of posts and it doesn't really specify anywhere specifically the order of how things work to determine LL, and I'm in a case in a tournament where it appears I've lost on CB SR's which is like 6th on my list:lol:

Yes, the LL order gets decided the same as a normal match when picks are tied.

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

I used:

How are LLs chosen?
1) Losers of qualifying final round (Final round most correct picks, SR's, PTS, previous round most correct picks, SR's, PTS, ...)
2) Losers of the previous round (Previous round most correct picks, SR's, PTS, ...)

from http://www.menstennisforums.com/showpost.php?p=8127650&postcount=4

as my guide.

Do you want me to go through it with you to show you the steps I took?

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

One of my TT players sent through a pick Seppi 3-0 for a best of 3 match, clearly meant to be a Seppi 2-0. I guess I have to accept it as is though? In other words, I want to clarify that we're not allowed to amend any picks apart from correct spelling mistakes in names, even if the number part of it is an obvious mistake, like someone sending a set won as 7-4 etc.

In my opinion a manager can never assume he knows what the player meant to type - it could really open a can of worms. How obvious is obvious? Yes, 74 is clearly wrong, but should it be 64 or 75?

I had a player a few weeks ago who picked Bohli (not in the OOP) instead of Bastl, and got quite upset that I refused to assume what he really meant!

I think if it's noticed in time a manager can send the player a PM suggesting they review their pick(s), but otherwise what they write is what has to be accepted.

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

According to the rules and FAQ thread someone who wants an SE has to apply for it. I can't find anywhere where it gives a deadline for this application. Can you clarify?
I suppose if a player has entered the tournament anyway there's no need for applying for it
Otherwise, the deadline is the 2nd deadline afaik.

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

why on Tennis Tipping no have Wild Cards for players?

It will be very good if have Wild Cards for tournaments.

Like Bucareste give wild cards for Romenian players. Or on Brasil Open give wild cars for Brazilians.
This subject has previously been discussed, and the majority were against it. If you are good enough it doesn't take too long to get your ranking up high enough to gain entry to the tournaments you want to play in.

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

Can I have a ruling please?

Round 2 singles - 1 PTS match designated on the OOP.

Both players sent all matches as PTS (for doubles purposes)

Picks and SRs the same, PTS 1 the same.

Am I allowed to use their additional PTS picks to decide the round or am I only allowed to use the designated PTS1 pick and then move on to the next tiebreak method?

I believe you aren't allowed to do that, goes to CB directly. (I think)

If the rule isn't that way it ought to be , CB is less random than PTS :rolls:

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

Just have a suggestion that we should have some more exho/team events so that it increases the bond between every members in addition to the sporting spirit.

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

I agree, I really enjoyed the team spirit of the Yemok and Biliana cup, and also the davis cup, really fun when you're not just rooting for you and your diffs, but the diffs of your team as a whole, more team ehxo events would be awesome:)

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

Ya that develops team spirit, blossoms ur mind apart from the real life worries.

An idea like TT involving continents would be awesome. We have players from Asia,America,Europe and Australia. If we get sometime to organize and run,it would be enjoyable.

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

WTFs questions around doubles alternates.

Should the ALTS form teams and a team is subbed in if one player in a team does not send?

Or can one player sub in as an ALT with the partner from the other team who did send?

I'm guessing the former, but just want to make sure.

Secondly, When CAN ALTS be used in the RR format? Can I only sub in a player/team in the first set of matches or right the way through RR?

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

Just two questions:

When will open the subscriptions in the first tournaments of January?

And if i play in the first week AO and be eliminated there am I allowed to play in a Challenger in the second week of the AO?

The threads for the first January tournaments should be opened on 18th December, provided managers are appointed by then.

The answer to your second question is "yes". You may also like to consider entering the GBR Futures tournament which is planned for the First week of AO, in case you do not get through the AO qualifying rounds.

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

I'm still a bit confused. The highest scoring loser gets a bye in a match where both players didn't send also applies to Qualifying first round right?

What about doubles? What if in 1 match, all 4 players sent whereas in another match only 1 of the 4 players sent, does the losing team replace or not?
