Brazilian captain Francisco Costa will announce the team nomination on next Monday (Sep. 09), which is the deadline for the nominations. Brazil will very likely have Bellucci in singles and Sá/Melo in doubles, so the second singles player is yet to be defined.
Players should play and train in Brazilian interclubs in the following weekend and then travel to Croatia.
I bet on Thiago Alves for the second singles spot. He is much more a force at a hard court than Marcos Daniel. Honestly, if Costa chooses Daniel instead of him it would be a very dumb decision
The ITF has announced the team nominations for the 2008 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group Semifinals, World Group Play-offs and 8 Zonal ties to be played on 19-21 September. The zonal ties consist of the four Group I Second Round relegation play-offs, the losers of which will be relegated to Group II in 2009 and the four Group II Third Round ties, the winners of which will promoted to Group I in 2009.
Live scoring for all World Group Semifinal and Playoff ties will be available on the Davis Cup website throughout the weekend.

It should have been easy against Brits too...
The real question us whether Mario is fit to play, for no Brasilian is match to him, and then Čilić won't have any trouble to score the third point.
I dont believe there is any confidence in Karlović left... He is some kind of lonely woolf, not a team player as I see.
First of all,wth is "Karlovic is not that trouble" supposed to mean? :cuckoo:
And second,Ancic said himself that he is at 100%.He trained a lot during his break.
Doubles is your only realistic chance to get a point in a live rubber.
Mario miles away from his best, but takes the first rubber in straights 6:2 7:6 7:6. Hopefully, he'll get more in tune after the doubles match.
