Solid 76 76 win for Frank over Dimitrov today. Was really close match throughout - Frank simply seemed to play the important points better, particularly in the breakers
Challenger entry lists are out for the week of Basel, and valencia, and Milos isn't on any of them. Instead he's in the ALT list for Basel, and Valencia qualies, 13th, and 12th respectively. it's gonna be really close to see if he'll get in or not, but it's nice to see him having th confidence to play ATP qualies
BTW, he has not yet withdrawn from Seoul CH, he's the 9th best player then in the current rankings, if one of the players above him were to withdraw he'd be seeded
Filip Peliwo is into the quarter finals of the B1 event, and will play an unseeded wildcard next. I'm not sure how many points this tournament is worth, but I'd imagine it's worth more than the G3 event he just dropped points from.
I believe he gets 50 or 60 for making the Quarters. I don't see him getting past the WC for some reason because he has been playing really well and destroyed the #1 seed too. Not to sure who he is but he is playing really well.
I'm just wondering.. People say Vasek has much more potential than Milos and actually has a better game than him. So why is Milos winning more matches than Vasek then? Vasek can barely win a challenger, but Milos can win ATP matches.. I just don't get it.
On the other hand, the G4 is going exactly like I thought it would be going, 7/8 Canadians in the quarter finals. I'd imagine that di Feo will run away with this title, but I've never seen the top seed play. Just another note from the G4, Manji plays in Pickering too.... no big deal though.
The difference in the match right now, is who's doing more with their second serve. Both have a really low 1st serve percentage, but have a high percentage of points won on 1st serve. Meanwhile Vasek is only winning 55% of points on his second serve, while Brown is winning 86%. Although as I write this, Vasek gets his first two points on Brown's first serve, and his 2nd and 3rd return point of the match
Yeah.. I really don't see Vasek winning this match. Brown is too good unfortunately. I'm just glad he got that first win in a Challenger. That's definitely some progress, and I hope it will give him some boost in confidence for his next matches

Q: You’ve picked up some great wins in the last few months. What factors would you attribute to your increased level of play?
A: My level has increased lately due largely to the amount of effort and work I have put into my tennis this year. Things are starting to click, and the work is starting to pay off, and it’s nice to see it directly through my results. I have gotten fitter and stronger, and most importantly I have stayed healthy. I have improved my return game so I can keep steady pressure on my opponents’ service games. If I had to pinpoint one thing helped me the most with my recent success it’s my mental strength. I am able to see the game more clearly and focus better in my matches because I haven’t been losing my temper or letting my mind go “berserk.” I feel much more calm and stable on court knowing I can always find a solution.
Peliwo won 63, 36, 64 and is in the SF of the Pan-Am. Great week for him.
