I was just wondering who else out there is a mad Jarkko fan? I only took notice of him in January 2003 when he trained with Enqvist. Jarkko has the most wonderful game, I saw him beat Kafelnikov in Melbourne and I was blown away! Anyone that's a fan, feel free to contact me :D

I *think* I just uploaded a photo of Jarkko. lol! Bye for now,

Kristen.

A few months ago, I read that Kim Tiilikainen, probably the 3rd best player in Finland, won't play anymore. He was in Miami (at Masters Series) to make a course. He wants to become a coach.

Last year, he made 34 points in only 5 tournaments, what shows that he would still be able to make the Top 250 with more tournaments.

For example, he won against Federico Browne on clay last year in Helsinki and 2002 he qualified for the ATP event in Sopot.

So hopefully Tuomas Ketola will continue his career, because nobody in Finland can reach his level at the moment. He still has to play in Davis Cup.

Now, Jarkko has new tournaments on his website.

It looks lieke he'll play Bastad, Stuttgart, Umag and San Marino. Hopefully he can start in Bastad!

San Marino means that he won't play the Masters Series, but it's a big challenger (100.000).

A few moments ago, I saw that Jarkko will marry Anu Weckström, a badminton player. I didn't know that before! The article where I saw that is from begin of June.

yay jarkkos coming back... can't wait to see him back on the courts

Hmm...glad to see Ervin could get 2 games at least! lol I'm even more glad to have Jarkko back in the game!

The Bastad site says this:
"The final match on Center Court saw Jarkko Nieminen oust Ervin Eleskovic. The Finnish No. 1 was playing his first tournament since Monte Carlo in April, but had an easy time against the 17-year old Swede."

Jarkko was due to play Umag this week but pulled out.
He also pulled out of Stuttgart last week citing wrist as the problem. Its a little sad, but he has to do what's best for his wrist and his tennis :)

Some new photos I found :)

I think Anu is quite pretty, the first photo I saw of her she looked like a normal girl. I guess she is. With the right make up, she's a stunner... and even without, she still looks good. Personally, I prefer Jarkko's looks though...

Apologies for the third picture. I hope some of you find it as amusing as i did. He looks like such a pretty-boy!

a finnish future win! (1st this year)

okay, here it is: Tallinn (Estonia): 10,000
Janne Ojala defeated Bart Beks (NED) 76 63

but unfortunately, he is one of the oldest ones (28?)
i mean, not really a hope for the future ;)

is there somebody, who is also interested in besides me?

#40 ·
Definitely interested.
I dont know if you have yahoo, or even if you're in the group already, but there's a fan group for Jarkko and the other Finnish guys. If you click on Jarko's name in my signature, it'll take you to the group :wavey:

Yes, you will find me in the group soon...

It looks good again in Latvia F1 with three finnish players in the semi-final.

Ojala vs Paukku :D
Ketola, L vs Nijaki

Juho Paukku has the chance, to make it to the top 600 by earning points in only two tournaments. :)

Ojala defeated the talented Sergei Bubka jr. 7-6(6) 6-0, who won against top seeded T.Nieminen in the 1st round.

And an interesting thing: Anu Weckström will also play in Athens, the Badminton singles.

Why do all these tennisplayers get married so young? Jarkko is only 23, only a couple of months older than I am... and what about Coria, he's even younger than me! Maybe that's why I like Rainer so much...

#43 ·
haha exactly! It makes me wonder if they're moving quickly, or I'm moving slowly :)
