Which is the best way for traveling to Nottingham from London? Bus, train, plane. I want to be there for SF and F :bounce:

I think train. Only like 2 hours outta London, nice smooth journey, then v short bus journey to outside the grounds.

I bought a ticket online. I'll be there for the finals :bounce:

Should've noticed this sooner - i only live about a mile away from the tennis centre - it's nearer to Beeston than to Nottingham itself, so here's a decent b&b that my parents often use:

http://www.a1tourism.com/uk/hylands.html

It's quite near beeston train station - which you should be able to get to directly from London if your going by train

Alternatively there's this one, which is even close to the station:

http://www.bedandbreakfast-directory.co.uk/uploads/estate/hotels/hotels2984.htm

Both are within walking distance to the tennis centre - if you're prepared to walk just over 1 mile!

You can buy your train tickets on the day you travel - we don't have trains where you have to have a reserved seat to travel like a lot of other places in Europe. However, if you know exactly when you're travelling, it is much cheaper to buy your tickets in advance - you can save an awful lot of money that way. If you buy them on the day you will have to pay "full fare" with no discounted prices, whereas there are lots of special offers available if you buy your tickets early. One word of warning for that though - if you do buy a discounted ticket and then miss your train for whatever reason, you won't get a refund or an exchange so you'll have to buy a completely new ticket.

Oooh only 10 days to go!!! Sooooo excited!! :woohoo:

On the way to see Star Wars yesterday I passed the Tennis Centre...no stadium seating put up yet. I guess they must be doing it mid next week. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Can't wait!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

God, the Brits did so badly in Surbiton that I might just silence one, stuff him in a cupboard and take his place in qualifying / main draw here. Let's face it, I couldn't do much worse! :tape: And, since I am currently living only half a mile away, I could easily make it to my match on time and save the LTA fuel expenses. :haha:
