Players can't do that consistently...

:haha:

In 40% of the cases a let would expose the server to get hammered back.

In 40% of the cases the let doesn't even affect the direction of the ball.

The players will aim at the net cord... i thought i'd heard it all

And yes - they should let go of this stupid rule. Even volleyball did looong ago.

I have a question : are there still humans who keep their hand on the net in some tournaments ?

or is it the machine or nothing ?

and were there less unnecessary let calls when it was a human checking than with the machine ?

The only reason why I tend to think that that rule should go is these unnecessary let calls.

Hell no. What a stupid idea.

What is next, getting rid of advantage like in doubles??
If that happens I stop playing and watching tennis.

No-ad is the most retarded rule in history of the sport.

Let's make the lets in rallies like in serves - replay the point...

the let rule is stupid and it should have been abolished since the very first time a net judge has taken a ball in the face, which is probably the 60s

For a second I thought you made a pun about Soeda

How?? I never said Soeda maan.

frequently? There are probably 2 serves per match that actually bounce off the net and get inside the box.

There are probably an average of 4-5 more that only a ninja can see or hear and that often is predisposition for quarrels.

Of course the net rule is a dumb one and it needs to get cut as soon as possible.

The no-ad though is the worst change in rules in the history of sports.

hell no.

Well they are going to try and see how getting rid of let's works at the CH level for the 1st 3 months of 13', but so far the players don't like it at all and I know the CH fans here on MTF don't like it either, me included, so it must be kept.

If a was in the players' shoes I would put up a strike till this trial is completely abandoned.

#34 ·
why?

Any normal person playing tennis at any level would be happy to get this stupid rule abolished.

All the ppl against this rule have probably never held a tennis racquet in their lives and have no idea what this atcually means, but also have too much free time to just troll around in forums.

Useless.

Re: New net rule in 2013.

Wasn't there already a thread about this?
