Alex ended up losing his second round match to a brit ranked around about 50 in the world i think the score was 7-5 4-6 7-6, so very close match, there is only one aussie left in the draw and thats Luke Saville hope he goes onto win it.

Yesterday Alex played first round at the junior open. He played Bruno Sant'anna who is the ninth seed. Alex lost 6-1 3-6 8-10. So just lost bad luck, hope he plays all the GS this year, espically because this will be his last year to play juniors because he will turn 19 straight after the new year.

Not sure of his credentials for the AIS selection but he is active at the moment in Europe touring with the other AIS players. He has qulaified for a Futures tournament in Serbia this week and won his first round match yesterday, which is good.
ATP ranking currently 1175, so must be somebody's favourite to be in the AIS.
Anyone else know more?

Bolt doing well on the clay in Italy as a qualifier. He is through to the QF's beating world number 456 Marc Rath 6-3 6-4. Then beating local and world number 349 6-4 3-6 6-4. He will have step it up next against Phillip Oswald who is ranked 237 and only lost 6 games in 2 matches.

Playing in Slovenia next week, Saville is also on the list hopefully they play doubles together!

He just won a 10k future in Hong Kong after defeating Victor Baluda 6-3 7-5 in the final. Along the way he also defeated Duckworth and Berman in straight sets. After his final in Hong Kong last week and the win this week he should now end the year inside the top 400. He is still entered to play next week's future in Hong Kong.

Real unfortunate loss for Alex 7-6 5-7 3-6. Not sure stats wise since the match just finished and can't find it in completed matches part of the new live scores.
