Re: Rafachat - Vol. 80: Always by Rafa's side on the way to clay & hard court dominan

It's "One of the best qualities of Rafael is that he's still thinking that he's gonna improve his serve and there are 15 years already since he is doing it badly"

This round of quotes is actually good. For a change

"if you form in a good way a player's character, he'll be able to face important moments even if he knows he's not that good"
"there are players that, after trying for 1/2 hour a shot without good results, decide that they are never going to learn it"
"there are persons whose head doesn't allow them to bear six or seven consecutive failures"
"For this is better to show a player to be like Rafael not to play like Roger. Because trying to imitate Federer is impossible"
"It's very difficult to be a Federer... or a Messi...you are born with this gift. But being a great player, you can achieve that"
"Imitate Federer or Messi is almost impossible. But you could learn to improve always and only when you have a good character"
"I have no problem telling my nephew that Federer is better, or djokovic:)(), or Murray"
"There are players for who it's easier to hit the ball or they hit it better, i see nothing wrong with this, I'm not afraid"
"Accepting the reality is the first step to solve the problem and improve"

LOL so Toni thinks/says Rafa's been serving badly. Mwahaha, and whose fault is it then Toni, hasn't he been coaching Rafa for those 15 years? :haha:
Bless Rafa for "always trying to improve, every day, no?"

EHHHH? How so? I was merely having a little laugh at tio Toni while pointing at the obvious. Hilde told him to shut up and she's not a hata? Heck, you yourself laughed at it. :(

P.S. Congrats Evita! :hatoff: Gulbis to win the St Pete's Open. :rocker:

Re: Rafachat - Vol. 80: Always by Rafa's side on the way to clay & hard court dominan

Just got back from my 6 week Europe holiday yesterday.

So much more love for so many places in Europe now :hearts:
Loved Germany a LOT more than I expected to and the biggest surprise package for me was how much I fell in love with Belgium!!! What a beautiful country :inlove:

Being back in reality sucks big time though. Going back to work on Monday after this long is gonna be torture

That's indeed tough luck, leng jai. Is your dad doing okay now?

I forgive you for not liking speculoos, waffles and *gasp* preferring Dutch chocolate.

There are so many different sort of waffles. I'm totally convinced that if you don't like waffles, it means that you haven't tasted the right sort of waffle. I prefer vanilla waffles.

Speculoos is not to be disliked. There are different kinds of speculoos/speculaas, though. The sweeter sort of speculoos made by Lotus is a masterpiece. It's as simple as that: you're a dolt if you don't like speculoos. Have it with a cup of lemon tea and you have a perfect experience. However, the sandwich spread based on speculoos is vile. You need to eat the cookie directly on white bread with a bit of butter. Forget the speculoos paste.

Preferring Dutch chocolate is

I bet scoobs prefers Dutch chocolate as well. I mean, IIRC; the man loves "drop". Says enough really.

Oh I saw the news about Lukaku. :scared:

I wonder if this thread will last a whole year.
We're striving to it, Linda! :worship:
Hope you're doing better now.

Had the worst week ever. Dad burst his appendix on thursday and had to be in hospital for 3 days. Took him home today and on the way had a slight car accident which will cost me $600 in insurance excess. Fuck my life.
Awwww.
:secret: If it's any consolation, it can be worse, much worse, believe me. If that was your worst week ever.

Oh actually I was here to cheer Gulbis to his tournament victory! :rocker: *oops, I wonder whast they say for vamos in Latvian, we really don't have such a word or expression in Estonian*

Rough! Hope things have improved.

I don't like speculoos. Which in any case sounds like a medical procedure, not something you eat.

When a guy loses conciousness, I'd think it's wiser to take him off the pitch and let a doctor check him out properly but he was sent back on pitch to play the rest of the match. :cuckoo:
This is a huge issue in (American) football these days. Hockey too. It should be! There is far too much evidence showing long-term problems - physical and mental - for head injuries to go unchecked these days. Several former (American) football players have committed suicide in recent years; concussions while playing is at least part of the reason.

I admit that this dress is better but still...I'm not keen on so much lace on a dress. Probably because Belgian lace is a big thing but it's viewed as old-fashioned over here, so for me: lace is linked with grandmas draping little lace table cloths over side-tables, coffee tables, televisions,...
Doilies. Here too. My grandmother gave all us grandchildren several antique doilies, many of which were her mother's, when we were teenagers. I still have mine but they've never been out of storage.

I don't know if accessibility is ok outside of switzerland, but you can see Eva and I at the hockey :D

After a few seconds on the first vid :p
I can't see it either, of course. But I'm glad to know you've been to a hockey game already this season!

Ah, you don't like drop. You're not totally hopeless then. :p

----

Football:
Romelu Lukaku made his debut for Everton and scored the winning goal with a header. The problem is that he not only hit the ball but also the head of another player. The ball went in but Lukaku dropped on the ground and lost conciousness for a few seconds. Later, he said that he doesn't remember making the goal.

When a guy loses conciousness, I'd think it's wiser to take him off the pitch and let a doctor check him out properly but he was sent back on pitch to play the rest of the match. :cuckoo:

This interview with Lukaku is :scared:

Congrats on Gulbis winning the St Pete's title, Evita! :hatoff: :D
Thank you, Maria  I feel happy for him. Enjoyed watching the final too :D

Sarauj

How quickly people forget :(
Andreea :yeah: Maria

This is the only place I feel safe. So much hatred on Rafa, I just don't understand.
Rafa has had an amazing season. Can't wait for him to be number one again :bounce:

I absolutely loved her look :yeah:

You can compare her with the CP Stephanie, her s-i-l. She also wore an Elie Saab lace dress but she got completely drowned by it. Claire has enough personality to pull it off, she wears the dress, not the dress wears her :D

And Hilde is keen of the Lux royals, they are close family ;)
