Murray could do with a rest, and his knee did seem to be bothering him. He tends to get these knee issues when he changes surface so hopefully all he needs is a week or so to do some training and get used to it. The guys been playing so much over the past couple of months and he must be so emotionally mentallyt right now that its probably best he withdraws.
is there going to be any tennis tonight what do u guys think? ive got tickets to tonights session but i have to travel a bit to get there and i dont want to do that if its going to be rained out
Good decision. Even waiting for his matches to be played probably takes a bit out of him mentally. Might as well rest for his the other Masters which has been equally good for him throughout the years .
Having said that, my challenge draw has been crippled today. Both of my finalists are gone, so RIP Toronto draw .
Djoker would be daft not to tank himself IMO. He played plenty of Olympic singles tennis so unless he goes on and bags this one and then takes it easy in Cincinnati then he might not be the freshest come USO time.
"The hard court is, for me, the hardest on my body and it always takes me a bit of time to getting used to playing on them again and I hope it doesn't affect the next few weeks."
Murray, whose triumph at the London Games was on grass, suffered the injury while chasing down a forehand and was grimacing on the court after repeatedly grabbing his knee.
He called a medical timeout while leading his match with Italy's Flavio Cipolla 6-1 3-2 and received about five minutes of treatment before returning to the court to finish.
Murray, who made the decision to withdraw after a warm-up on a bike earlier on Thursday, said his physiotherapist will be at next week's Cincinnati Masters where he will have more treatment and training before deciding how to proceed.
"The left knee, I've never really had many problems with it beforehand so that was another reason for making this decision. I want to make sure it's not something that I am going to play through and maybe damage a little bit more," said Murray.
But he was only defending like 90 points or something. I think he said earlier it was his only chance to meet up with his coach before USO so I think that was probably his main reason.
Raonic is so lucky. First there are enough withdrawls so he can be seeded, then he beats Troicki and Murray pulls out, so instead of having to beat at least 2 higher ranked opponents and winning 3 matches, he won 1 vs a lower ranked opponent for his 1st masters QF and enters the TOP20 for the first time. Although I would like him to make a breakthrough, this is hilarious.
Fakeray openly insulting the proud, peaceful, beaver and moose loving nation of Canada. I had contempt for him before but now he's just being an agitator.
Congrats to Raonic at least you did something in the great overhype that you have achieved by reaching Quarters of a Masters for the first time.
