Re: Week 16 : Rome-1 (Entry List)

Phau - Vesely 5-7 6-4 0-0*. Terrible match so far with many errors and bad movement on the court from both players. Vesely had 7-5 3-0 but failed miserably to hang on that advantage and Phau made the comeback. Really poor performance from the czech in the last games against a player who gave away lots of free points

Re: Week 16 : Rome-1 (Entry List)

This week we see a few strange scorelines at challengers in Latin America. I guess we'll get explanation tomorrow when find some envolved players in Barcelona and Bucharest quali draws... Has anyone info about AHM's and GGL intentions? They are in B&B entry lists, but will they play there?

EDIT: And the most funny thing. For the time being, both AHM and Lajovic are IN for Barcelona quali list (http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=249242) You could see Greul and Struff here too

Re: Week 16 : Rome-1 (Entry List)

i dont really think a person with a record smth like 2-20 in his last matches is thinking of tanking just to get into some next tournament quallies  imo people are overappreciating the tank factor a lot while it happens rarely

greul didnt tank to fischer either despite he was in the barcelona quallies.

pella didn't tank despite he was in quallies

garcia lopez is in the bucharest main draw btw for all you tank theory fans, so no, he doesn't have to lose today

In principle, of course, I agree with you. However, sometimes it's happened :) For instance, it's suspicious when players demonstrate very different efforts/attitude in two adjacent matches... Of course, it's difficult or impossible to establish in most cases, but sometimes player writes in Twitter/Facebook etc that he has airplane ticket in a pocket to play at the next event as Stakhovsky did after tanking (or playing with not 100% efforts if you wish) SF in Cherbourg... Though, even in such cases it may be only excuse for funs sometimes :) It's eternal topic
