Here we go again. 2013 Season begins...This year a new adventure for Gilles as he's going solo. Hopefully, he's healthy and ready. I'm preparing for another roller coaster ride as long as the ride isn't too bumpy for the stomach .

Well, match starts, there's stream. I'm watching horror, 2 DFs to start the match, error after error, hardly won a pt so far going 0-30 in his 2nd serve game, then another 2 DFs to lose another break 0-3. That's 4 DFs in 2 service games. Maybe that error machine Simon is here. Damnit.
Well at least he's winning I guess, and that's mainly because Lorenzi started playing even worse than Gilles was, but it's some pretty bad stuff out there right now and not encouraging for when he starts facing better players. Hopefully he really cleans up his game in this 2nd set and starts playing a lot higher quality tennis.
Actually, I think he turned it around in set 1 bcos his FH is much more crisp after about 4 games. Lorenzi was consistently not good even if he won the first 3 games.
Now Gilles back to his Set 1 error mode. Gosh, what the hell.
Well, maybe it's not a bad thing, maybe he figures he needs more match to get into rhythm for next match or sth, that's if he makes it to a next match.
I'm sure Gilles will win this in straight sets, but it's just so stupid watching him get himself into these unnecessary holes and then dig himself out. Why not just come prepared and ready to play instead of being so casual and careless out there. The better players aren't going to give him all these chances to get back in the match or right the ship.

C'mon now, you think Gilles is being unprofessional? I mean, have we not learn that Gilles is a slow starter? And after he wins 1st set, it almost always happened that he loses the first serve game of 2nd set.

Not unprofessional. Unprepared. It's like he's not sufficiently warmed up and raring to go. He's flat and real lackadaisical. He should be in or as close to the zone from the start and not playing this good one moment terrible the next charade. He's too good for this to be the norm now for him. Not to mention he needs to play as little as possible in the opening rounds that should be easier so he has more left and isn't tired or hurting by the later rounds now that he's getting older. It's just disappointing to see this scenario keep happening.
