Pico will be out for a month.
Diagnosis: Grade 2 injury in the ligaments. of the ankle, which means they are partially torn.

Hello everyone. As you could see, I had to retire from my match against Haase in Montecarlo. I had an important injury in my right ankle. I know it affected the ligament, but I still don't know precisely how bad it was. Tomorrow we will do some studies and see how much time will I have to recover. I hope I can go back to the court as soon as possible, because I'm having a great moment. Thank you very much for all your messages.

Take the time to recover, don't come back too early, Pico. Target RG if possible, but skip it if necessary. Post Wimbledon clay swing should be his goal.

Don't meant to sound rude though but if this does potentially stop him from ever reaching the top 10 I think it's a good thing.
Really not the time to say something like this.

Well good news/bad news. Good news is the injury isn't too extensive and he will be back sooner than later. Bad news is, of course, the ankle being weakened and he not being able to move 100% on it and feel 100% comfortable with it at the French.

Hopefully he is a fast healer!

How exactly do you know it will be 1 month, they haven't even done proper tests on it yet.

Horrible luck for Monaco, he just reached his best ranking again since 2008...
Everything was going so well and one wrong step and he's out for a month

Shame this will all but end his efforts to get top 10

hopefully he will back to RG, but not at this level regretfully

Poor, poor fellow, such bad luck when in good form just entering his best surface-part of the season.

Get well soon, Pico!

PS: anyone who manages to rack up sufficient points to enter the Top-Whatever, deserves it.

the correct diagnosis is ligaments from the peroneo astragalino are broken, then he has two other ligaments injured. His kinesthesiologist, Diego Rivas, said "we are trying to do everything possible for him to play Roland Garros".

He will have to wear a Walker Boot
