I think Benoit deserves a thread.
He is just 20, has won several futures tournaments and is ranked 611th
He is playing RG qualies this week
1st round against Giovanni Lapentti and he won the first set 6/3
few lines in lequipe again. He was tensed before the match as he made his calculations and was very happy at the end He won't stop before RG Rome, Brodeaux and Nice
Benoit lost today to Robert 4-6 7-6(4) 1-6. Typical inconsistency, maybe the top 100 thing got to him? Do you all think it's good or bad that he keeps up with the rankings? It is a good motivation but it also can make you nervous.
Benoit plays in Roma challenger next week and was drawn a WC Trevisan from Italy in R1. He may play Arno in R2. He has a good draw to do damage and solidify top 100.
Benoit lost to Brown 1-6 in the third. Typical up and down match from him, flashes of talent, but major inconsistencies and mental fragility. Well, now Benoit plays in Bordeaux and plays Clement in R1. Young v Old Frenchmen, Benoit should have the advantage. He has a good draw so hopefully he can put together a good week.
WC MD for RG confirmed Hope he will be better than in Bordeaux where he was awful. He will play nice qualies and doubles with Adrian according his facebook
Lost 5-7 3-6 in the first round of Queens to Clement. Looks like he might be playing Qualies of either Eastbourne or s-Hertogenbosch next week before Wimbledon.
He beats Golubev in two sets well everybody beats Golubev this year  but good job. As usual his schedule is strange he was on clay last week indoor this week and next week he returns on clay I never understand his schedule  .
Other good news is that Benoit is not so far to finish the year in top 100 and make AO cut. I think that he needs around 80-100 points to do it.
Gilles Muller is his next opponent so not easy. Good luck. He says in post match interview that since he lost in NY qualies he changed his mind and try to stay more focus on his game
He plays today his second round. There is few lines on him in lequipe about this changement of mind. He calls his parents and his coach after US Open defeats to tell them that he will change since he pay attention about what he eat he stretches his body  Well it seems some rackets are still throw but he tries to stay focus. I don't know if it will continue with his changement but with his talent if he's focus he can be amazing
