It was announced now that the brazilian Ricardo Mello has earned a wildcard for the main draw of the Brasil Open and that this is gonna be the last tournament of his career.

The 32 years old Brazilian turned pro in 1999 and has one ATP title in Delray Beach in 2004.

He said he is tired of the routine of training and that playing professional tennis has become a tiring activity rather than a pleasure one.

Mello was semifinalist of the Brasil Open in 2005 when he lost to Rafael Nadal, and in 2010/2011 when he lost to Ferrero and Dolgopolov.

He also has 15 challenger titles.
