Re: Ben Mitchell's Banana Party

After winning a match in his return to the ITF tour at Alice Springs last week, Ben has gone one round better and ousted the top seed Omar Jasika (current world ranking of #250) in RD2 of the Brisbane F5 today.

He advances to the QF's with the 7-6(5) 7-6(2) victory.

Fifth seed Fukuda of Japan awaits.

Glad to hear this is a proper comeback and not just him popping up for the Aussie circuit.

Re: Ben Mitchell's Banana Party

Not a surprise considering how his career evolved, but it clearly turned out Ben did not have the game and drive it takes to be a touring professional.

Hopefully he enjoys a successful coaching career and family, it seems to fit.

Re: Ben Mitchell's Banana Party

Disappointing for those of us who followed his career, but I really don't blame him for making this decision. Him and Lois raising Zara will be one of the most exciting times of his life and slogging it out on the challenger circuit he would miss a lot of that

Congratulation on everything you achieved Ben!
