Re: IGOR/ELENA @ Hopman Cup 2010

Yeah, I never expected him to beat Murray, but to win only 1 game?!

Igor is better than that.

Losing to Golubev is just... Don't even want to talk about it!

Oh well, onto Sydney where Igor has some good history.

Re: IGOR/ELENA @ Hopman Cup 2010

Igor and Lena will take on the favourites for the final from Group B, Great Britain, tomorrow. Lena should beat Robson, and Murray is the huge favourite in the men's singles. But I guess we can take comfort in the fact that it really can't get any worse for Igor than against Kazakhstan.

If they get to a live mixed doubles, I think Russia are in with a shot if both are playing okay.

If they win the tie, calculations will have to be done to figure out which of Great Britain, Russia and Kazakhstan (if they beat Germany) will go through to the final. If they lose, Great Britain will go through.

Davai Russia!

I'd count yourselves lucky. That's pretty mcuh what it's like for us, although it's like that all year round instead of just one month at the start of the season.

IGOR/ELENA @ Hopman Cup 2010

I know this is late, but there wasn't one, so I thought I may as well.

Of course, Igor and Elena have already played their first tie against Germany yesterday. Even though Elena was shocked by Sabine, Igor managed to keep the tie alive by beating Philipp and then they teamed together quite well in the doubles to take the tie. I couldn't watch because I wasn't at home. But oh well, I am looking forward to Russia vs Great Britain already!

Elena Dementieva lost to Sabine Lisicki 4-6, 1-6

Igor Andreev d Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-3, 6-7, 6-3

Dementieva/Andreev d Lisicki/Kohlschreiber 6-4, 7-6(9/7)
