Fish was here, practicing for the upcoming Pilot Pen Tennis tournament, while his good friend Blake, from nearby Fairfield, was just practicing, period. Commitments for his upcoming new clothing line, along with other appearances he's scheduled to make next week in New York, are preventing him from playing in the tournament he's won twice and created a fan phenomenon -- the J Block -- in the process.

For Fish, who lost to Blake in the 2007 Pilot Pen finals, there are no commitments for clothing lines, no personal appearances, just tennis. And maybe, just maybe, that's why Fish is climbing up the rankings ladder and Blake is going in the opposite direction.

Why only 5 points for qualifying to MD?

Levine will probably get into qualifying directly & the wild card will go to someone else. (It seems unlikely that there are 28 players ranked higher than Levine who will sign in.)

Shit !

Gasquet will take part in the qualies, it's confirmed by his coach.

Now only one hope for me : he wins the tournament and gives the organizers a finger

but I don't think he will win of course, and the organizers can feel quiet

Qualifying would be good for Gasquet to give him more matches and it would be great if he made the final 4 of the main draw.

When does the qualifying draw get released and when does qualifcation play begin?

According to a French website, the WC go to Verdasco, Baghdatis and Ram.

And I still hope Gasquet doesn't go there and tells them "Fuck off" : might be bad for him but it would be justice for a crazy decision.

Confirmed here :

Quote:
The tournament has confirmed that Richard Gasquet intends to play qualifying, his first match since being suspended for testing positive for cocaine in March. The International Tennis Federation is appealing the decision and the USTA, which works in conjunction with the ITF, had no intentions of agreeing to give Gasquet a main-draw wild card.

That's what I suspected ...

whereas the appeal is not suspensive at all : after all, there was one judgment by an independent tribunal and he was considered innocent (only an unsignificant negligence about going to a dancing in Miami was considered). Still recently there was a hair test and Gasquet is not a cocain consumer, whereas Pamela is.

It's good that there is an appeal if they want to check it again,

but then why sentence him before ?

I really hope Gasquet does not go there : I don't care how Gasquet succeeds in the US Open, but this attitude is disgusting. He should tell them "FUCK OFF"
