Roig/Carbonell may have been a good team, but I doubt Roig ever made such a big impact upon Canadian viewers that they will want to see him.
Would it matter to the viewers if Nadal had played with say Marc Lopez? I'm sure it wouldn't. If they go to that doubles match they'd do it because they want to see Nadal and Djokovic and their partners are of no interest no matter if they are Roig/Vemic/Lopez/etc nobody. TBH Rafa's decision to team up with his coach looks strange to me and is something I can't fathom. But that's the benefit of being named Rafael Nadal - sometimes you get what you want.

Good Luck:

Dlouhy/Petzschner
Djokovic/Vemic
Fyrstenberg/Matkowski
Chardy/Simon
Nestor/Zimonjic

Congrats to Haas and Stepanek for winning their match already. I mean, Jérémy won one out of his 18 doubles matches this season and Simon one out of 12, so Haas/Stepanek practically need to only step onto court and they have already won.

Francisco Roig. Used to be a player himself. Reached Top 100, and had better results in doubles than in singles. But he's 40+ now so it's a weird choice for a WC. JMG is right though, if Nadal wants a WC, he gets it. Regardless of his partner.

Kas-Troicki seem to have pulled out, Murray-Hutchins are playing against an alternate team according to tomorrow's OOP.

the only German team that would make the cut would be Haas-Kohlschreiber I guess... would be strange to see them playing together somehow
