Maybe the the title of this topic can be changed? There's the rules thread that is pending, so I don't know if that could be used to discussing or open a new one, or use this with other title. Just some ideas.

Re: Doubles Tennis Tipping (DTT) Managers Thread-- New season, new managers needed

should we make a thread for DTT board where we can discuss rules (changing or adding) and other stuff that managers discuss or would we do that kind of stuff in the 2010 managers thread (im still not sure why we are still using this old thread)? because theres the rankings thread for rankings and the managers thread for signing up to tournaments, but there isnt really a central thread where we can discuss like i said the things board members discuss, such as rules etc. and miscellaneous stuff regarding DTT

Thank you for the points system, I didn't know it was the same as TT
Well, this tournament a little bit chaotic will finish, so it will be counted.

But in Zagreb kengyin due to no fault of his own as he didn't know(and he may even be right) placed the 2nd ALT team to commit as ALT1 because they were the higher ranked team. Yes, you are right. First ALT to commit should be ALT1, then 2nd should be ALT2 and so on ...

Anyway, I know from last year than managing many DTT tournaments in a row is very difficult (DTT has to deal with OOP of many tournaments which is not happening in TT Management).

I won't have time to manage any tournaments, maybe 1 or 2 in the next months. But I could still be a member of the board. With this board we should new make a new rules thread, last weeks there have been much discussions which are not good for our game.

Yannick, I hope you could still be a member of the board ? Kengyin? 156mphserve ? Alex? Others?

I can be but my availability will be very limited (01:00 am CET and I am just able to connect ... Too much work ...). So, unfortunately, do not count on me for DTT Management and I cannot be a reliable DTT Assistant ...

Regarding rules, these are the same as TT except following ones I have used constantly during whole year last year:

- when a match is postponed from more than 1 day, it is up to the manager to decide to cancel it or keep it.
- late picks are accepted (as for TT in 2008). No strict deadline (when matches start is usually used).
- in Masters Series, first round losers can be lucky losers of second round.
- Alternates can commit until first round starts.
- Challenger matches are not used by default but when really required (because not enough main tour matches), they will count only in case of tie-breaker for main draw matches ...

That is all I have in mind for the moment ...

I only noticed the poll thread for the rules change for last year, so it was a little difficult to find the points system.

Points are the same as for TT:

- 0 points for R1 losses (except in GS, which are mandatory)
- GS = 1000 W, 700 F, 450 SF, 250 QF, 150 R3, 75 R2, 5 R1(+20 for qualifier)
- Masters = 500, 350, 225, 125, 75, 35, 0 (+20 for qualifier)
- 500 = 300, 210, 135, 75, 25, 0 (+15 for qualifier)
- 250 = 200, 140, 90, 50, 20, 0 (+10 for qualifier)

If you get a bye in first round and lose in second round, you are granted points of loser of first round.
