What is worse with this tank we are again at point zero about his injury and his current abilities and form.

Maybe you would have see him playing golf instead of tennis.

Re: David Plays Estoril 2009

It definitely didn't look like he was taking the match all that seriously.

This looked like a complete tank job.

Re: David Plays Estoril 2009

He didn't really make any attempts to stay in rallies either, even on shots where they were just rallying around with the ball relatively close to him, so it's not like he was trying to save himself from doing some running. And hitting the ball completely flat, so that inevitably an error would come.

Re: David Plays Estoril 2009

The question is what he'll say after the match. Whether there were any problems with his hip.
He definitely didn't move well. Or rather, he didn't really move, at all.
And the serve... Goodness me.

Re: David Plays Estoril 2009

I didn't expect such a match. For sure I didn't expect a completely fit Dave but not that bad...
Is he still feeling much pain or is he unsure about his condition?

Re: David Plays Estoril 2009

There is no doubt that he can beat Capdeville with eyes closed. All it takes is to stay more than 3-4 shots in the rally and he will make an UE. But it is obvious that David is testing his shots trying to hit winners with almost every shot.

Re: David Plays Estoril 2009

So that was a massive failure, to the supposed test. I can't help but think what things might be like in the next few weeks, and whether he will end up playing Madrid.

Re: David Plays Estoril 2009

Stats are hillarious 27% first serve, 3 winners, 20 UEs.

Re: David Plays Estoril 2009

It sure felt like he didn't do very much of anything. Makes it feel like a pointless exercise, him being out here today.
