Sorry for being , but the Austrian DC team beat Israel and they are back in the world group. I want them to draw France next year!

A guy reporting from Lyon on rgnet says that Richard also practised today with Tsonga. So I really think the injury stuff is misinformation.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions guys
American tennis announcers just don't know what they are talking about quite often
Should have known , since it was Ted Robinson making the comment
He is about as knowledgeable about tennis as my dog
And glad that Gasquet is healthy , and ready for action in Metz . Wishing him good luck !
and also glad to see the French team was in total support of each other at the Davis Cup tie .

Any news from France that does not appear in the US papers ?
I also heard that rumour from someone present in Lyon already on Friday, but I think it is just plain wrong. Reportedly Richard practised with Tsonga in Lyon on Friday, he is in singles and doubles draw in Metz, I can't imagine him not withdrawing on time, if he was really injured.

My interpretation is that someone just messed up Tsonga and Richard and it was repeated without checking. There was nothing about it on any of the usual French sources.

I never heard about an injury this week... I think it's wrong.

Congrats to the French team!

Re: Davis Cup 2009- ALLEZ LES BLEUS!

Full article: http://www.lequipe.fr/Tennis/breves2...er-modele.html

The article only praises Tsonga's role as supporter, mentions Benneteau, not a word about Richard. But then it comes.

...he (Tsonga) practised with Richard this Friday morning and there remains work to be done. "He was marching and I was at the back. In the end I was ko and he was doing great. However, we did left-right (I do not know what he means by that), I think I have still work to do."

Re: Davis Cup 2009- ALLEZ LES BLEUS!

I wonder the same thing about our tv coverage, Beth. Surely, as Americans we are expected to love Mardy Fish! These people have no clue at all.
I watched the first tie also and I feel better. It was very good to see Richard, Julien, and Jo, who I did not expect to see, cheering on their team. Perhaps we, as fans, are the ones who have bad feelings over this. We just have to trust they know what they are doing. Good luck, Frenchies!!

Re: Davis Cup 2009- ALLEZ LES BLEUS!

so Llodra does win his first match in the tie. And Richard , along with Tsonga and Benneteau are there to support the team .

and I am sorry - what the heck happened to my tv coverage
seriously ? I have to see Mardy Fish play in taped tennis
when Gael and Nalbandian are getting ready to start live !
This sucks

Richard is really a team-player, working with Clément in all areas he wanted on Thursday.
