Xavier was on a Belgian sportshow. Sabine Appelmans works for them and every week she makes a little reportage with 2 Belgian topsporters. One of them tries to learn the other one's sport.
Xavier had to show a soccer player how to play tennis. But it was kinda strange because he couldn't explain to the guy how to hit a backhand...
He told him he uses a grip no one else uses and teached the guy how to use that.
At the end they played 3 games aginst eachother, which Xavier won!
Xavier dumped his coach of the Bolletieri academy (sorry, but I can't remember the man's name). He wasn't able to get Xavier back on track and he didn't have much results working with him. (the 7th coach he dumps according to teletext
Xavier will stay Steven Martens for a while now until they found him a new coach.
Isn't that the second time he turns back to Martens for a while? I think he has a good influence on XAvier.
I think he's supposed to play Mercedes-Benz cup in LA next week. He's on the player list. But I don't know if his back is good enough to play... I suppose he'll be fine by then.
What's eating Xavier this week? Or rather: what has he eaten?
Just when I have given up on him once again, he reaches his first semi in ages. I'd better not pay too much attention to it coz otherwise he'll lose.
That's exactly why I don't give up on him anymore after a series of bad results. Belgian press always starts critizising Xavier when he's having bad results, but he's shown us lots of times now that he's always capable of coming back strong all of the sudden.
It looks like he's better when he's the underdog and people don't expect much from him. And when he gets a higher rank and he gets more attention he starts losing again. Very strange actually!
I hope he keeps doing good for a while now!
Come on, Xavier! 2 more wins please!!
I agree with what you say BelgianGirl. The thing is, I used to hope he would play good more often after some good results but I'm affraid his results will remain as they are, up and down.
But at least he has good results sometimes, I think we should be happy about that.
Xavier in the final. Come on, X-man, this HAS TO be your first tourny.
It's a pity his results are so up and down because with his talent, a bit more consistency his ranking would be a lot better.
Is there any television channel showing the final? With Kim and Justine out and no longer Eurosport on my TV, I'm hungry for some live tennis.
