Poor Dinara ... she just could not get into the match ... it was all over before you could say "Krajan looks lovely in Yellow!" ... must've been hard to have all those eyes on you and be unable to get anything working for you, but good on her for hanging in there and trying her best
loved her comment 'I was just a ballboy out there today'
go and work on that serve girl and the next GS is yours

That was a little hard to watch but not a painful as it would be if she had MP's and lost. Serena was really good. I think I was teary eyed before Dinara was. :crying2: I'm not disappointed in her. I thought she did a great job in this tournament. I don't believe any fan of hers is disappointed in her, especially since she was the runner-up after losing in the 1st round last year. She didn't look nervous at all!
The bad part is I live in the U.S. so I had to put up with the biased commentary which made it harder to watch. Bud Collins' dumb remarks after the match weren't necessary.

what?? nonsense, there are people clapping, screaming, chanting names ... you can hear them (or else, i'm very happy I'm not watching the channels you're watching Penguin )
That's why I love the livestream on the Kremlin Cup website so much btw: you have the sound and atmosphere, but no commentators. Heaven!
I was just curious, did she opt out of Fed Cup, or was she just not included? It just seemed odd when I read the team list. Thanks in advance for your answer.

Dinara Safina will set up a training base in the Croatian town of Varazdin starting in March, reports Sportske Novosti. Safina, who is working with Croatian coach Zeljko Krajan, will finance the building of tennis courts that the town will also use as a training centre.
Dinara and the coach seem to be an item to me. Yes? A training base in Croatia, Hmmmm, I hope she isn't too much under his influence aka Patty Schneyder was with her coach.
a) He doesn't seem to be of a bad influence, unlike the weirdos Patty tend to stick with
b) Patty had bad relationships with her relatives, which didn't prevent her meeting the above mentioned weirdos. Dinara's family is very supportive and would probably keep an eye on her if such things were happening.

really nice article on how Dinara, Krajan inlove, and her fitness coach Dejan Vojnovic started working together. It's dated from the AO final so reading Krajan's expectations is a bit now, but still it's interesting
I guess losing became a family affair today - Dinara lost in the 2nd Round today (had a 1st Rd bye) to Virginie Razzano 6-4 6-2. :awww:
This isn't really Dinara-related, but I thought it was cute. I was reading a Todd Martin interview today, and after a question about what tennis players he watches (and after his long answer about ATP players), Todd said his 5-year-old son Jack is a Dinara fan.
Though his on-court appearances are limited largely to OCS events, Martin has become a faithful fan of women's tennis thanks to son Jack.
"My son won't let me discriminate between the two (Tours). If tennis is on, he's like 'Come on! Safina's playing!' " Martin says. "His favorite player is Dinara Safina. So I watched a fair bit of women's tennis too."

She won her 2nd Round match against Pironkova 7-6(8) 6-2 on Friday.
Today (Sunday) she won her 3rd Round match against Peng [#28 seed] 7-5 6-4.
Dinara will face Jill Craybas in the 4th Round. (Craybas beat Dokic, Medina Garrigues, and Vaidisova)
