The truth is that I am an awkward old git, and I objected to being "allocated" to a tournament I had not chosen. If I had been sent to Szczecin I would have gone to Istanbul. I am truly sorry you have suffered as a consequence.

It seems that, for a variety of reasons, there are probably 50 fewer players this season than there were last year, so perhaps, as Andre says, the number of tournaments needs to be adjusted.

In any event I would support a rule change so that players who choose an unpopular tournament which is cancelled are awarded a week's holiday from TT!
I sincerely appreciate this message I'm over my initial frustration over it now, it was just a shock when I went to check the draw and saw I wasn't there and had missed qualifying. Hopefully something can be done in the future to sort out the unfortunate situation. Good luck in the tournament

The ambition is to be able to offer every player somewhere to play each week during the season.
A very valid point and a laudable sentiment.
Ok, here's another suggestion - make the unpopular tournaments more popular by reducing the minimum entry numbers from 16 singles and 8 doubles to 8 and 4.
Let's see some vultures!

I perfectly judged my commitment to Szczecin the day before the initial deadline so I would not be in qualifying and yet 4 days later I'm out again?
Very sorry about the situation - it's the first time it's happened when we have transferred players over. Last few months have been a tough spot in the sense we don't have enough players for 4 tournaments but probably just a few too many for three when there is only one challenger. It's unfortunately not a perfect science and if the trend continues (we have lessened the schedule but impossible to predict week to week) we will need to fix potential conflicts in 2017.

If you have any ideas please let us know.

I think tournaments are always cancelled after first deadline, but before second. If you don't like the current rule about cancelled tournaments, you can propose the rule change during the off-season.

Banja Luka was cancelled on Thursday, BobbaBobb posted an updated entry list Friday morning. I don't know how the manager could have done any better.

All the players were transferred to Istanbul, but two have chosen to play Szczecin (event offering more ranking points) knowing they'd enter MD there. This is kind of unfair, I agree.
In my opinion players should be allowed to move to a tournament of the same level or lower.

This is not quite correct, the shootout rule means that you win based on luck on the 1st match in the OOP, this new rule means you win based on skill, if you are good at picking you will win more matches, which is how it should be.

Will do Markus. I am just thinking the mtf isr rule only encourages players blanket-picking 2-1

It's not an ISR rule pr se. It's sets given to winners when you picked the loser, independent of what your opponent does. If you feel the rule can be improved upon then give us a suggestion at the yearly rule review, which isn't that far away now, so the players can vote on it.

ISR only makes sense when both players or teams pick the losers. And the one giving a set to winner can have the advantage.

Re: Tennis Tipping Rules & Questions

as the board, we don't care about the rule changes, as long as they're voted upon with majority we're okay with whatever y'all want (well within a reason)

Make your case for the next rule review and maybe the majority will decide differently next time.

I think you know there is no rule that will make everyone happy. We had some heavy complaining about the shootout rule prior to it being changed.
Count me in against this new rule. I voted aginst at the end of last season, I will vote the same this year.
