Re: 2009 Chameleon Hardcourt Season Thread [Part I]

I only requested if everyone is trying to move forward and get things back to being peaceful to stop posting in this cursed thread to close the thread between all us.
there's nothing more to add to the discussion about the tennis of Gilles in IW or Miami.
as you said there is the chat thread for non tennis related things.
My only request is to move forward and start talking about the clay season of Gilles and forget this cursed thread. As I said his hardcourt season is over.

It's better we all move forward and start again to be friends in the clay thread.

Re: 2009 Chameleon Hardcourt Season Thread [Part I]

and your contininuing trying to miss my point
you said "As I prepare to archive the Chameleon thread"
my friend, you're already late with the cursed thread.

if we all really want, (you first, Alli archieving the cursed thread)
and everyone is trying to move forward and get things back to being peaceful:

Then the thread is closed and no more replies.

the hardcourt season of our Gilles is over.

and it's time to talk about the clay season of our fave player

Re: 2009 Chameleon Hardcourt Season Thread [Part I]

I'm so sorry about what is happening over Gilles' forum. I think it will never be the same over there again. I used to enjoy myself a lot there, and it was the only place where I could share my love of our dear Gillou with people who love him just as much as I do. I just read the last 10 pages over at Chameleon thread, the cursed thread, and I understand this kind of things should have never happened. I'm just so sad that so much people can't see the problem with the racist quote.
this kind of people don't deserve to call themselves fans of Gillou.

If Gilles had read that, I can just imagine how disgusted and shocked he would have been. Jo is his best friend with GaŽl, and even if he wasn't, he would have just be horrified about racist comments about anyone, because he's such a great and sensible person. No one in their right mind can think racism is right, especially not Gilles, who is so close to three Black people (I'm including Ouanna there, I know they're friends too).

Disclaimer Ė these are my thoughts that Iím sharing. In no way do I have the expectation for others to have these in common.

I have to admit that Iíve purposefully been hanging out less and less dans le poulailler. I donít adore Gillou any less, I just find it less enjoyable interacting here.

I donít intend to enter into any debate about fault, etc but I will say that I whole-heartedly support the setting of boundaries regarding culturally-insensitive remarks. I think that the forum members in general do a good job of pointing out when this has occurred. I also equally commend the ability to apologize when boundary violations have occurred.

It also appears that most forum members whoíve commented on what transpired earlier expressed ideals relating to the importance of respect and maintaining peace. I think that these things are honorable. While I recognize that there are cultural differences in how boundaries are set and conflict is resolved, Iíd like to share a few general guidelines that seem to be in line with the ideals of respect and peace:

I mentioned above that Iíve actively been choosing to hang out here less. The main reason is that itís been so hard to find the commentary about tennis lately. My general preference is that off-topic commentary or comments that are not presumed to be of general interest to the group should be moved to the chat thread(s).

I very much enjoy getting to chat with everyone here about Gillou and tennis in general. I think the greatest thing about le poulailler is that itís an international forum filled with different perspectives. I hope to see everyone over on the Clay Season thread.

~The Chameleon Thread Ďhostí: signing off.

p.s. It wouldnít be me without making a joke, of course. helped me to win the best bet (made in my mind only) of all Ė to have more posts in the thread I started than Natsumeís Australian season thread

Re: 2009 Chameleon Hardcourt Season Thread [Part I]

thanks for all thepics everyone I adore cats. I don't have one of my own right now,but I'm always the first to look after neighbours cats when they're on holidays. I had one,but she died of heart failure, she lived to grand old age of 13. She was a tortoiseshell. I have pics of neighbours/friends cats. When I find which memory stick they're on I'll post them
