I can imagine

I was also a big fan of Stefan when he was active on the tour and to see him in Roger's team was really amazing and something I never thought would happen.

In Halle 2014 I had the opportunity to meet Edberg when he was around in the early days and got a picture with him. That was truly something special

It must have been awesome then for you when Roger announced he would work with Stefan

Re: Introduce yourself thread

I don't remember introducing myself in section or in any other part of this forum, so I'll do it here. Here goes:

I'm Savin, 16 years old, from Peru. Speak English and Spanish fluently, that's it. My race is Indian, and I'm now living in Singapore, for the past 5 years, where life isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I still miss Peru and hopefully I'll return back there soon. I finished my Secondary School last year with very satisfying results, and now I'll go to Polytechnic to continue with my studies in Business.

I started seeing tennis in 2005, here and there, because my father used to watch it, and I followed him in that, and then learned more about the sport and legends through him. I started liking Federer in 2006, after he defeated Nadal in Wimbledon 2006

Roger's game appealed to me, he made things look so easy. I loved his style of play. But I only followed the slams back then, I didn't watch much of tennis, I was more into football, it was only until 2009 where I watched tennis more often, watched more tournaments but still, it was from 2012 onwards that I started following tennis seriously as I am now. I'm hoping Federer can still play for a few more years.

Re: Introduce yourself thread

Doesn't look as though I have, either, so here goes:

Younger than Linda, older than probably more or less anyone else on here, I think. Live in London, been watching tennis since the 70s, first trip to Wimby 1981, and been there most years since, plus the odd few other tourneys, including the late lamented Beckenham Tennis tournament, where I once stood next to Boris Becker reading the schedule (it was that kind of tournament!). (Quite a) bit of a linguist, as you might have picked up by now.

Always appreciated Fed (although arguably an even bigger fan of Stefan), but it maybe took Wimbledon 2012, after 2 years of him getting knocked out inappropriately early, for me to realise just *how* much, and how good it was to have him back where he belonged. I realised he might not have that much time left on the tour, and decided I should stop taking him for granted.

Re: Introduce yourself thread

Strange but I have never really introduced myself on here, just know through posting

I'm Olly, 23 from the UK

I graduated two years ago in Geography, then spent most of 2013 working in conservation in Peruvian Amazon, back home now but going to central america for 6 months in june to volunteer and do some spanish schooling too.

I followed roger since about 2005, but only really seriously since about 2012.

I play loads of tennis, do part time modelling, enjoy the beach, family, friends, traveling to london, films, learning spanish

It would be great if we would get more introductions from other Roger fans on the forum

You are welcome Dave

It's nice to have you with us and read a bit more about you.

Formula 1 and Golf are amongst the sports I find the least interesting and I could never understand people getting up early in the morning to watch other people drive around in a car

Well, I think other people won't understand why we wake up to watch people hitting a little yellow ball over a net
