As promised (and requested), this is our all-new chat thread. Since most of us don't really know each other, this is the place to do it.

As everyone probably already knows, I'm Tiffany (Tiff for short), a schoolteacher who loves to read, write, travel, take pictures, surf the net, go to the movies, listen to music, and visit with family and friends. I've been on MTF going on four years (two weeks will mark the actual fourth anniversary of my membership).

 I really wanted Portugal to win today, but fair play to Germany. That was a very entertaining match for neutrals though.
As Gary Linekar said, ''football is a simple game; 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans always win''.

I was really sad in the end - but, it's only football. Life goes on & there are certainly worst things.

but we already knew how it tasted Gooner. :p We lost to them two years ago, in the Word Cup, in the 3rd & 4rd place game, or whatever that is called. That's why we were fourth in the WC. :p

& it was actually a very similar game with last night's, both in outcome & in performance.
with Schweinsteiger being a monster as well.

Oh well, maybe my country can now concentrate on the big crise we are going through - because the football,
(like it already happened in 2004, during the Euro, when our prime minister resigned) was blinding everyone from the real problems.

Had a really enjoyable day at Wimbledon today. I saw Wawrinka beat Del Potro, Gonzo crash out to Bolelli, Ferrero retire due to injury, Ancic play some good S&V tennis, Berdych struggle against Hanescu and seeing Bjorkman and Hrbaty play doubles in their final Wimbledon. Good tennis with perfect weather if a little bit too hot at times which is very rare in London.

One thing about Safin's big win today; I saw both Safin and Djokovic's practice sessions this morning and the difference in the intensity levels are huge. Safin was having a really strong workout against Baghdatis whereas Djokovic's practice session with his coach was light hearted and not really too serious. I remember saying to my bro if I was a betting man I'd put some money on Safin. 4 hours later Safin wins in straight sets.

Hey, I am glad you still enjoy Wimbledon though David was out quite early  This Wimbledon is full of surprise :scared:, but it does bring many good matches :yeah:. Sometimes, I would like to see those lower-ranking players challenge the top seeds. They make the tournament more exciting and suspenseful. But definitely I won't want that happen to my favs though :p

I'm pleased to hear that you had a great time at Wimbledon on Wednesday gooner. I went there on Monday and Thursday and I really enjoyed myself. I'm a big fan of both men's and women's tennis, so there were a lot of matches on both days that I want to see at least parts of. I got a look at about 15 matches on Monday and 14 on Thursday (only a few of them in full). It's a pity about Nalbandian's terrible peformance on Monday, but despite that I've still enjoyed Wimbledon so far.
I had an outer court groundpass on both days, but on Monday I hung outside Court 1 after the Hewitt-Haase match had finished. Plenty of people had seen enough tennis for the day and were going home early, and I persuaded this woman to give me her Court 1 ticket for free rather than slipping it in the red resale box. This enabled to watch Nalbandian-Dancevic live from start to finish. I really didn't want to miss out on watching a match involving my 2 favourite players, and it was my first experience inside a Wimbledon showcourt.

Also 3 days ago I got the results for the my 2nd year exams at university, and I passed. I even got the highest mark in the year in my practical exam and got a prize (which turned out to be a book token but still ).
I'm heading to Chicago on Tuesday and back home to Vancouver a week later, before finally travelling to Toronto where I have tickets for the Rogers Cup (I love having relatives who work for Rogers and can get me free tickets).

I have completely not noticed that there have been posts here.

Congrats for doing really well in the practical exam. A book token is so not appropriate for such a high achievement!

I've also really enjoyed this Wimbledon, there have been a lot of enjoyable matches and loving the fact that there are no rain delays. The upsets have been good too, Djokovic and Roddick losing. It was about time Djokovic lost early in a big tournament and Roddick losing when he had a favourable draw is good too.

Have fun big man in Toronto, congrats on the great results.

Yes, there are idiots who still think cramps are injuries.

You know the worst thing I was accused of making up facts.

Hi everyone !

I hope you are all OK :D
Here are the news for me : after waiting 3 month I got the result for the engineering school I want and I had to take an interview which was yesterday ! 15 people out of the 40 selected to pass the interview will join the school so it's tough ! Anyway being among the 40 people selected is a great achievement for me even if I want more ;)

Stress is raising lol

:aparty: Maybe I will go to the tournament which take place in Lyon this year ;)

#778 ·
Thank you Getta ! But don't worry I've already done the first 2 years in another school so it's only 3 years to go ! Anyway it's great to know I will make the studies I wished to do, it's like a dream which come true :D - maybe overdoing it a bit about the dream part but I think you got it lol -

Great work Viken.

LeChuck, if you are bored and want to read some comedy. Go to the Court Surface Speed theory. These bean counters not having a clue at all. Monte Carlo slower than Hamburg.

 That thread was priceless. I can be a bit of geek too when it comes to sporting statistics, but numbers and percentages certainly aren't the be and all and don't form sole the basis of everything. The Monte-Carlo-Hamburg comparison had me in stitches. If we told any of the players that we though Monte-Carlo played slower than Hamburg, they would piss themselves with laughter.
I hope all is well with you, and that you're enjoying the olympics.

EHhhh como estaaaa ? Que pasa por aqui ?

Hace mucho tiempo que... oh no let's stop it here. So how are you everyone ? It's been few times since we didn't have news from everybody ! I hope you are all OK !

I started my course 2 weeks ago and it's just wonderful. We are 75 students and half of the class is composed of foreign students. It is so great to work is such atmosphere, you can speak english or spanish when you want ! I'm sticking with a mexican students lately he makes me work my spanish and I try to help him in french ! So now I know what means "Pito" en Mexico... very useful !

But it's also great because here I'm living in a residency and I'm really enjoying it :D
So this year I will take back Spanish lessons and start learning Japanese, I'm really looking forward to it !

But let's stop here I have to go for a trip with my class so see you :) :wavey:

Hi all:
Something that I haven't been able to figure out just yet: even though Nalbytard has not entered into official usage in the MTF lexicon-and I have to wonder why-we have a lot of posters who either troll in every David thread like an inbred Jed or fanchild him all over the place, declaring him the Second Coming, the Real #1, Fit Dave, or "the man." What's up with that?

#790 ·
Tiff, they are morons for the most part.

#792 ·
I remember there weren't "nalbytards" in the past...there were just normal fans or pure haters, but I agree the tards are annoying.
But what's more annoying are the haters...I mean I understand when you hate a player, you just ignore any thread about him...but what I don't understand is getting into every thread about the player you hate and bash him and call him fat or whatever....that's just pathetic, people need to hate less!

#795 ·
well...obviously David is a player who makes people go kinda crazy with his drama
But there's this guy who's really very annoying to me, he gets into every thread about David and never says anything subjective...the likes of: delpo fixed the match for David, Murray should be ashamed he lost to the fatty, Nalbandian is not good indoors he just wins a lot of matches at the end of the year when all the players are tired
I mean, why can't you just say something, at least, logical!!!
Strange people

Talking about Glenn? He is simply the biggest troll I ever seen. I don't think he even believes what he is writing (that is a scary thought cause in that case he would be one of the most stupidest persons alive). He is just trolling in every thread and baiting posters into quarrels. I am actually more annoyed by bandwagoners who only shows up when David is playing great and hide around the rest of the time.
