We all know how well Brydan has been doing over the past few months, so it's about time that we gave him his own thread. Keep working hard, playing well, and even more impressive results shall follow. Congrats and good luck Brydan :)

Absolutely I agree The kid is 18 and the future is in the youth of Australia and he has been doing well enough lately to prove he is on the rise. He should go to about 420 in ranking with the win in NZ.It would be good to see him get a go and from what I see he rises to big occasions well. He is good in the big matches. Go Brydan:):wavey::worship::):worship::worship::worship::worship:

Re: Brydan Klein: Australia's Big Hope

Hoping to get to see Brydan next week, is he playing Manchester?

What's he like as a player Guccione or Hewitt or somewhere in between?
Well you could go and see him in Felixstone this week but I dont know how far away you are from there. But yes he is the last direct entrant into the Manchester Challenger. Brydan is definetly not a Guccione type, he has good groundstrokes. youtube.com/watch?v=fch5XOWA5W4 - a video of him playing against Robert Smeets the recent winner of the Dublin challnger last week.

If you get the chance check out Greg Jones as well if he gets in the main draw, he is like Brydan but has a massive serve.

The LTA Manchester Trophy

Brydan KLEIN (AUS)(#337) defeated Adam FEENEY (AUS) (#289) 7-6(9) 6-7(3) 6-2

Nice win there :)
In the second round, Brydan plays Joshua Goodall, the 7th seed and World No.261.

After making the final last week and now the second round here this week, Brydan should jump to No.317 on the ATP Rankings. If he upsets Goodall, he will rise to No.300

All the best of luck :bounce:

Re: Brydan Klein: Australia's Big Hope

Wow impressive stuff from Brydan, If he is able to win this tournament that puts a major twist into the US Open Wildcard. Brydan can actually be ranked higher than Groth Ebelthite and Lindahl if he wins this tournament and is not far behind Carsten and on top of all of that will be within reach of the top 200 if he does well in the next indian challenger. Unfortunately for Brydan Carsten Ball is still going in the US challenger. If Carsten matches Brydan's performance this week in challengers (which could be tough for Carsten to make at least semis) then I cannot see how they could possibly give it to Brydan over Carsten. Its only fair that he has been playing higher standard tennis than Brydan for most of the year. But Im very confident that Brydan will be in top 100 within the next year after this performance and wont need these wildcards.

Prediction: 2012 Davis Cup Team -
Bernard Tomic - Singles
Brydan Klein - Singles and Doubles
Greg Jones - Back up Singles player
Carsten Ball - Doubles

Re: Brydan Klein: Australia's Big Hope

Great posts from you all. I do tend to think that Carsten has performed really well this year and he is playing slightly higher level tournaments. That being said I am delighted to see Brydan performing well and that mob down in Melbourne must be breathing a big sigh of relief about this pair!

Re: Brydan Klein: Australia's Big Hope

Brydan Klein got knocked out in the Semifinal in a close 3 setter. Dissapointing to see him lose, but nonetheless, a great tournament from Brydan. He should move up to around 250-255 in the rankings on Monday. It's been a great week for all the Aussies, and it's still not over! :)
